Today I had the pleasure of providing a virtual presentation to the Insight’s teammate resource group, Women With Insight.

We covered foundational pelvic health concepts with a special focus on women’s health, breaking down anatomy, common dysfunctions, and practical strategies to support long-term wellness.

They were an engaged, thoughtful audience, and I’m truly honored to have spent an hour in conversation with them.

So many reasons to strengthen the muscles that support the pelvis. Here’s a big one:

The muscles outside the pelvis directly influence the pelvic floor. The positioning of the pelvic bones affects pelvic floor stability and how much it has to grip throughout the day. When strength and alignment are balanced, the pelvic floor can function at an optimal length–tension relationship instead of overworking.

As I move through the Pelvis Pro course with , I’m refining my lens and technique and I’m excited to bring this next level of precision back to you.

A functional muscle is a happy muscle. 💪 That was the core theme of yesterday’s training with the Club Pilates crew. I was grateful for the opportunity to help bridge the gap between pelvic health and Pilates because when we focus on functional strength, breath, and postural alignment, Pilates can make a profound impact on pelvic health.

The team was warm, welcoming, and deeply committed to learning. Thank you for inviting me into your studio and your community. It’s a privilege to collaborate with professionals who care so much about doing this work well.

Today, let’s find joy in our collective breath.

You have more influence over your thoughts and feelings than you think. For the next few breaths, choose joy. Slow it down. Feel it expand. Let it put a soft smile on your face.

Like and share with someone who could use a gentle reset and a moment to reframe their joy.

Struggling to fall asleep or get back to sleep after waking?
Try meditative breathing.

Breathe low and slow. It should feel smooth, rhythmic, and effortless.
Inhale for a count of 6, exhale for a count of 6.

Repeat until your mind feels quieter and your body settles back into sleep.

Sometimes urinary incontinence isn’t caused by weak muscles it’s caused by pelvic floor muscles that are too tight.

And it doesn’t always feel pelvic. It may show up as hip pain instead.

So which came first: the leakage or the hip pain?
Either way, both should be addressed. A pelvic floor assessment can help uncover the root cause and get you on the right path to recovery.

Diastasis recti can look really scary the first time you see it, but take a breath, it’s not as ominous as it seems.

Diastasis recti is a stretching or weakening of the linea alba (that connective tissue down the middle of your abs). And here’s the thing: it can happen with any growing belly—women, men, pregnancy, weight changes, you name it.

The good news? Your body isn’t broken. With the right kind of targeted strengthening (and not just endless crunches), your core can rebuild strength, support, and confidence.

Think you might have a diastasis recti or were told you do and aren’t sure what to do next? Don’t guess, let’s figure it out together. Book an appointment and get a plan that actually works for your body.

Let’s play a little game.

There are lots of different ways to pronounce lots of different words—levator ani, cl****is, diastasis recti, coccygeus. You might hesitate, laugh it off, or worry about saying it wrong.

But it doesn’t matter how you say them. What matters is how you treat them. These terms play a role in many pelvic floor diagnoses, conditions that often live in the shadows, are minimized, or simply ignored. Getting the right care can be truly life-changing.

Don’t delay. Reach out for treatment today.

Bonus points if you can define all the words in the video. 😁

This week’s Collective Breath is all about easing mid-back pain.

Try this: sit in a chair and rest your forearms on your thighs, or stand at a counter with your forearms supported and palms facing up. This position encourages your breath to move into the mid-back, allowing the intercostal muscles between your ribs to relax and expand with each inhale.

Many people notice surprisingly quick relief when those ribs and muscles are finally allowed to move. Take a few slow, steady breaths here and see how your back responds.

Give it a try and let me know what you notice.
