Every gut issue + symptom has a story behind it, and most of the time, it’s not the one you’ve been told.

If your symptoms come and go, flare during stressful seasons, or seem to show up “out of nowhere,” this isn’t random, and it’s NOT because you’re doing something wrong 🫶🏻

A lot of people don’t realize their nervous system is dysregulated because it doesn’t always feel like stress.

It sneaks up quietly, through poor sleep, constant mental noise, feeling “on” all the time, or just pushing through another day ⚡️

When that’s happening and there’s internal chaos in the gut, the body loses resilience.

Most chronic gut issues come down to two root causes working together 👇🏻

1️⃣ Internal imbalances �Inflammation, poor digestion, bacterial or yeast overgrowths, blood sugar instability — all of this creates stress inside the body, even if your life doesn’t feel particularly stressful.

2️⃣ Nervous system dysregulation �Spending too much time in fight-or-flight instead of rest-and-digest makes it harder to digest food, sleep deeply, and tolerate stress or foods you once handled just fine.

When these two overlap,

IT’S WEDDING MONTH 🥹✨💞

I can’t believe January is already over, it truly flew by.
(And yes… I definitely showed up here on social much less than planned 😅)

January ended up being the slow down to speed up season I didn’t know I needed.

This month, I:
✨ Gave my nervous system a break and got out of fight or flight more than I even realized I needed
✨ Was super consistent with my workouts and nutrition without extremes or tons of pressure around it and it felt AMAZING. 
✨ Had so much fun coaching my clients, while my business shifted and grew quietly behind the scenes
✨ Deepened relationships with my closest friends and with my fiancé
✨ Planned our wedding and let myself slow down enough to actually enjoy the process

I’m heading into February feeling incredibly grateful, grounded, excited, and clear & I can’t wait to share more of this season with you! 💃

Before you buy another laxative for constipation… try this first 👇🏻�
What if your digestion doesn’t need more restriction, it just needs support?

Constipation is a sign that something's off, a clue that your digestion (and often other systems, too) are downregulated and not getting the support they need.
�So before you cut out more foods or waste money on quick fixes that don’t last, here’s what I’d start with 👇🏻
✔️ Space your meals out every 4–5 hours to allow your migrating motor complex (your gut’s cleanup crew) to do its job�✔️ Sit in the right position using a squatty potty when you p**p (trust me, this makes a difference 🚽)�✔️ Use gentle tools like magnesium glycinate, ginger tea, or dandelion root for motility + bile flow�✔️ Stimulate your vagus nerve with humming, gargling, singing, or deep breathing to help your nervous system reconnect with digestion
✔️ Do things that make your body feel SAFE often (get enough sleep, stretch, do yoga, dance, take a warm bath)

At the start of 2016, I was thriving.

✔️ I started intentionally resistance training.
✔️ Did my first actual deficit.
✔️ Hit my goal weight.
✔️ Felt confident in my body for the first time… maybe ever.

But somehow, that still wasn’t enough.

Because that confidence quickly turned into obsession.
I was proud of being “disciplined”
Tracking every bite.
Going to the gym at 5am (even after nights out).
Skipping social events because I was scared of the calories.

Telling myself:
❌“I don’t like cheese anyway.”
❌“I have to train every day or I’ll lose progress.”
❌“Fat makes you fat.”
🙃

Behind the scenes?
➡️ I was restricting all day, then binging alone in my room at night.
➡️ Living on caffeine + adrenaline.
➡️ Sleeping 4-5 hours a night.
➡️ Feeling anxious, wired, and on the edge of burnout every single day.

So if I could sit with that girl now, I’d tell her this 👇🏻

1️⃣ You didn’t regain the weight because your deficit “wasn’t low enough”, you regained because you under-ate for so long, your metabolism downregulated, and every time you ate more on the weekend, your body held onto it 😵‍💫 You weren’t broken, you were in survival mode.

2️⃣ You’re not sleeping because you’re wired.
500+ mg caffeine.
1100 calories.
Hyper-scheduled days.
That’s not discipline, that’s depletion.

3️⃣ Rest days are growth days.
You weren’t building muscle because your body never had a chance to recover… or the fuel to do it.

4️⃣ That constant anxiety? It’s not a normal part of being a high performing human.
It’s a nervous system in overdrive from under-sleeping, under-eating, and overstimulating your body every single day.

5️⃣ You can want to change your body and do it in a way that supports your health, but it has to be in seasons.
You cannot cut + build at the same time.
You cannot live in a deficit forever.
And your worth is not defined by how few calories you eat.

So if you’re in your “2017 era” right now,
I see you. I’ve been you.

And there is a path to achieving a body you feel confident and comfortable in that doesn’t take over your whole life 🫶🏻
