Hello Everyone!
It's been about 3 months since I had my kidney transplant and I wanted to share with you that things are getting back to normal. I still do get weekly blood work done and a monthly follow-up with my surgeon and nephrologist. My #'s have been pretty good. My eGFR has been steadily holding above 60, which shows that the new kidney is working great! I am able to do more things as well. I am back to working, picking the kids up from school, walking the dogs, cleaning the house etc., although Hubby is constantly yelling at me to take it easy lol. But if I feel no restrictions, so I will keep doing what I love.
I do have a surgical procedure set for February 19th to remove the stent and check the urine flow internally to see if any corrections need to be made. If you recall it was the stent removal back in November that landed me in the hospital for almost a week. I pray that is not the case this time! Jesus please touch the hand that operates on me!
Other than that, a new year means new medical bills (UGH!!!) because my max deductible payout resets. One of the pills they have me on retails for $7000 a month!!!!!!! Thank God that so far with my health insurance, along with a voucher from the manufacturer, I am getting it for only about $210 per month....but that's only one of about 6 different medications I need to take. Please pray with me that the medication costs and doctors bills go down! It's crazy how expensive this can get. With that said, I Thank God because he has provided two great jobs for Hubby and I so that we have the flexibility to go to doctors appointments and work from home whenever necessary. God knows what He is doing!
Only other plans I have is the Sunday after my surgery (Feb 22nd), if all goes well, I am planning a family get together at my home to celebrate my Hubby's birthday. The theme will be "Thanksgiving Dinner" since I spent the real Thanksgiving in the hospital with Hubby and we want to celebrate it right.
That's all I have for now. Please KEEP PRAYING for me and the family as well as our donor family Merari and Larry. The doctor's said that the first 6 months are very critical for long term kidney transplant health, so they will continue to monitor me closely and change up my medication as needed so that my body does not reject the kidney. Just like my donor said, "Jesus gave me the kidney" so I have all the faith I need that this will be good for the rest of my life.
Thank you all for the prayers and messages. May God Bless You All!
