❤️ Meet 2-week-old Zedrick, a tiny warrior with a mighty heart. ❤️

While he was still in the womb, he was diagnosed with multiple heart defects. From 19 weeks pregnant through delivery, our fetal and perinatal cardiology team closely monitored both mom and baby every step of the way.

Two days after he was born, Zedrick underwent open heart surgery in our Patel Children’s Heart Institute. He’s now healing in our pediatric cardiac ICU, surrounded by a team dedicated to giving him the strongest start possible.

His mom, Jennifer, remembers the fear, the uncertainty and the shock of the diagnoses. But she also remembers something else: the moment she met our congenital cardiac team and knew her baby was in the very best hands.

This Heart Month, Zedrick reminds us what courage looks like. What hope feels like. And why our congenital cardiac team pours everything they have into caring for families like his. Join us in sending love and strength to this incredible little fighter and his family.

🏴‍☠️📿 Our patients took over the hallways today for a pirate parade of their very own! Dressed in swashbuckling gear, they rolled down a special route on decorated stretchers and wheelchairs, handing out beads and pirate treasures to cheering team members along the way.

This heartwarming tradition brings the spirit of Tampa’s beloved Gasparilla celebration inside the hospital, giving kids and families a chance to join the fun even while receiving care. It’s one of our favorite days of the year—a treasure trove of adventure, fun and pure pirate joy. ❤️🏴‍☠️

Yo-ho-ho to our incredible Child Life team, volunteers, team members and guest pirate krewes for making magic happen!

After a devastating car accident left 12-year-old Charlotte critically injured, St. Joseph's Children's Hospital and our on-campus Ronald McDonald House became a lifeline for her family.💙

From emergency trauma care to weeks in the pediatric ICU, our caregivers were by Charlotte’s side through every moment. Thankfully her mom never had to choose between being close to her daughter and caring for herself. Just a short walk from Charlotte’s patient room, the House offered a quiet place to rest, recharge and stay connected through the toughest moments. Ronald McDonald House Tampa Bay, Inc.
