Madison, Tucson and Thailand
I started ThaiYogaMetta Thai Massage in 2007 in Madison WI. In 2011 I began alternating my time between Madison and Tucson for family reasons. Now I attempt to spend winter and spring in Tucson and summer and fall in Madison but this year I spent Nov-Mar in Thailand and a few other countries to do some advanced studies so I will be in Tucson from April into September. I will be in Madison into December, back to Thailand for a few months and then back to Tucson around March. The photo above is from the sculpture garden at Wat Po temple in Bangkok, the official home of Thai Massage where the history is curated.

Thai Yoga Massage, Thai Acupressure, Tok Sen...
2017 was my 10th Anniversary. My gift to myself was a 5 month trip including 3 months in Thailand for advanced studies. I returned to Tucson at the beginning of April 2018. With my new advanced studies I begin new offerings. Traditional Thai Massage is primarily an energy line based therapy. Thai Acupressure or Nuad Kod Jud is the body of knowledge that addresses specific point therapies for specific orthopedic pain and discomfort. I will be integrating these point therapies into my Thai Yoga Therapy sessions. Tok Sen is an ancient technique known only in a small region of Northern Thailand that uses a small wooden mallet and peg to provide gentle rhythmic tapping on the energy lines, known as Sen. The gentle tapping produces rhythmic vibration which releases and promotes energy flow. It is a very relaxing experience. This technique is gentle and not to be confused with other techniques that have arisen that look and feel more like pounding with a hammer.
Until 2018 I have focused on offering Thai Yoga Therapy/Massage. The lineage of Thai Massage I am associated with is responsible for renewing the connection of Thai Massage to Yoga and Ayurvedic healing practice. Thai Massage is actually the most ancient form of yoga therapy originating with the physician to Buddha who was a yogi and an Ayurvedic Physician. My attraction to Thai Massage was based on my personal yoga and meditation practice that began in 1971. When I began my studies of Thai Yoga Massage I was also inspired to study Myofascial Release which is a technique of melting fascial bindings and restrictions in the fascia of the body. For the first few year of my Thai Yoga Massage practice I also offered Myofascial Release and then as Myofascial Release technique was integrated into my ThaiYogaMetta practice I focused only on offering ThaiYogaMetta, my style of Thai Yoga Therapy. Along the way my personal experience of yoga, meditation and breathwork also became more integrated into ThaiYogaMetta along with intuition, metta (loving kindness) and intention. From early on clients have asked me if I also provided help or instruction with these other techniques. Up until now I have offered some occasional meditation consultation and in the fall of 2017 I offered my first workshop. In 2018 I will begin to formalize other offerings. Stay tuned....
