Taos Whole Health

Taos Whole Health Welcome to Taos Whole Health, we offer a spectrum of Eastern & Western approaches to restore balance Doctors Lilly-Marie Blecher and Joanna J.

Hooper were introduced in 2016 by a mutual patient who recognized their similar vision for providing care―their instant friendship and mutual respect for medicine resulted in a quick and easy habit of referring patients to one another and consulting with each other to problem-solve unusual medical situations they encountered in their individual practices. Now, with their new clinic, Taos Whole Health, they’ve brought to fruition a dream long-held, by both women, to offer patients access to collaborative, holistic healthcare for patients under one roof. In addition to the range of primary care services both Dr. Blecher and Dr. Hooper offer, Taos Whole Health also serves as a home for seminars, on-going classes, and complementary therapists including Patrick Shaw, LMT; Tracy Miller, LMT; Carl Wagner DOM; and Celeste Griego, ND, LMT.

When energy feels slow, heavy, or hard to access — it’s not a personal failing.
Our systems respond to season, stress, digestion, sleep, past overwhelm, and the pace we’ve been keeping.

Acupuncture helps by restoring circulation and opening the pathways where energy (Qi) can move more freely.
Think of it as clearing the internal fog, waking up the warmth in the system, and reconnecting you to your own capacity.

If you’ve been feeling:
• Low energy
• Hard to get going
• Heavy or foggy
• Disconnected from your motivation
• Or just tired in your bones…

Your body might simply need support — not pushing.

Acupuncture invites the system back into rhythm.
Not a jolt of energy — but a return to your natural flow.
Gentle, real, sustaining.

What if your body already had the tools to heal itself? PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) uses a small sample of your own blood to activate your body’s natural healing powers. It can support tissue repair, reduce inflammation, and promote regeneration — from joints and tendons to skin and hair. At Taos Whole Health, we help your body do what it already knows how to do: heal.

As the seasons shift and the air gets colder and drier, our bodies often ask for a little extra support.
In Chinese medicine, we look to herbal formulas not just for symptom relief, but to restore balance — to help the body remember how to regulate itself.

There are formulas to warm the digestion, soothe stress, nourish blood and yin, support immunity, ease PMS, calm the mind, and replenish energy that’s been stretched thin.

These herbs work in combinations that have been refined over thousands of years — each plant chosen to support the others, like a well-orchestrated conversation inside the body.

If your system is feeling:
• Depleted
• Cold or sluggish
• Stressed or wired
• Dry, achy, or run-down
• Or just ready to transition with more intention…

Chinese herbal medicine can offer gentle, steady nourishment — a way to harmonize with the season rather than push through it.

Curious what your body might need right now?
We can help you find the formula that meets you where you are.

Kindness is more than a personal quality — it’s a public health resource. Strong relationships, supportive communities, and being witnessed by others all have measurable effects on the nervous system, immune function, and overall well-being.

At Taos Whole Health, we practice medicine that recognizes we heal in connection — with our providers, our families, our neighbors, and the land we share.

World Kindness Day is a reminder that small acts of care strengthen the health of the whole community.

As the weather cools and the days shorten, our bodies naturally start to draw inward. We slow down. We conserve heat. We crave warmth and grounding.

Moxibustion (moxa) is a beautiful support during this seasonal transition — a gentle heat therapy using dried mugwort to warm the channels, move circulation, soothe pain, and nourish the body’s internal fire.

Think: a cup of tea for your nervous system, a blanket for your Qi.
A reminder that warmth is medicine.

If your body has been feeling cold, tense, tired, or a little depleted with the shift into fall/winter — moxa may help you return to center.

Come in, warm up, reset.

Today is World Mental Health Day. Mental health is health — and everyone deserves care that goes beyond symptoms to support real healing.

At Taos Whole Health, we offer ketamine-assisted therapy as one option for those struggling with depression, anxiety, or PTSD when other treatments haven’t been enough.

Research shows that ketamine can help create new pathways in the brain, offering a window of relief and possibility. Combined with therapy, it can support deep, lasting change.

You don’t have to walk the path of healing alone. If you or someone you love is seeking support, we’re here to listen and help explore options.

Stubborn muscle knots? If you’re spending long hours at the computer, hunched over or holding static posture, those tight trigger points in your neck, shoulders, or back may be more than just annoying — they can become a source of ongoing pain and tension.

Research shows:
-Office workers who use computers for 4+ hours/day often have active myofascial trigger points (MTrPs) in the upper trapezius, contributing to chronic neck pain, reduced range of motion, and strength deficits.
PMC

-Poor posture and static loading (like forward head posture or rounded shoulders) are strongly correlated with development of these trigger points and myofascial pain syndrome.

That’s where treatments like trigger point injections (TPIs) can come in: they help deactivate these painful knots, reduce inflammation, and when paired with integrative therapies like acupuncture, myofascial release, posture work, or ergonomic adjustments, the results are stronger and more lasting.
