🌟Resident Testimonial - Ms. Jean Walston🌟

“Since arriving at Bridges of Hendricks Creek in July 2022, I have truly enjoyed being part of this community. Although moving into assisted living was not something I originally desired, from the very first day I felt a sense of warmth, openness, and belonging that made it feel like home rather than a facility. I have never regretted being here.

This experience has helped me learn to endure what I cannot change while finding joy in each day. The administration and staff are friendly, loving, and attentive to our needs, creating an environment where residents feel cared for and valued. I enjoy bringing laughter and encouragement to others, building meaningful friendships, sharing meals and activities, and most importantly, sharing the love of Jesus. For those who may not receive frequent visits from family, I try to remind them they are never alone—we have one another, and God is always with us.

This is truly a wonderful place to feel at home away from home.

- Resident, Jean Walston”

Good Vibes this week at The Bridges of Hendricks Creek Assisted Living! 🎸✨

Our new liaison, Michael Harris, from Amedisys Hospice brought "Mackelwave"! —to perform some classic hits for our residents (including songs from the king himself - Elvis!). The room was filled with smiles, dancing, and tons of positive energy as everyone enjoyed the performance! We even brought out our popcorn pot and cooked up some hot, fresh popcorn. 🍿❤️

These special moments brighten our days and remind us how music brings joy at every age. Big thanks to Michael from Amedisys Hospice for making this happen! It was truly fun and special.

Who's ready for the next one? 😎🎤

Exciting news from The Bridges of Hendricks Creek! 🌱🍅🥒🍉

Our Executive Director, Josh Lanier, has a vision to transform our unused rear courtyard off the 400 hall into a relaxing outdoor space designed to boost wellness, activity, and joy for our residents!
We’ve already kicked things off by tilling the soil for vegetable and flower gardens and clearing some small trees behind the fence to open up a beautiful, wider view of the neighboring ball field—perfect for watching the kids play sports while relaxing outside. We know many of our residents come from homes where backyard vegetable gardens were a must-have so we're hoping this space will feel familiar and comfortable!

We’re planting plenty of traditional veggies, with a special focus on tomatoes and cucumbers right along the sidewalk edges so our wheelchair users can easily “grab and go” fresh produce to enjoy back in their rooms. Flower gardens, shrubs, and classic Southern garden touches will add color and charm.

Plans include picnic tables, benches, swing(s), handmade birdhouses, bird feeders, and other delightful decor to create welcoming spots for gathering, gardening, socializing, or simply soaking up the sunshine.

This space will give residents a meaningful connection to hobbies from their past, while encouraging them to get outdoors, stay active, and enjoy the fresh air and vitamin D!

The project will take quite some time (Jamie and Josh are just two people, after all 😂), but we can’t wait to see it come together into something truly special.

Families and friends often ask how they can contribute or sponsor something special for our residents—this is a wonderful opportunity! If you’d like to help prep, plant, or tend, we’d love the extra hands. Or, if you’d prefer to donate or sponsor items like shepard hooks, picnic tables, benches, a swing, bird feeders, plants, shrubs, or any charming decor, we’ve set up an Amazon "wishlist" with items that will make a huge difference. This list will continue to change as we make progress on the project! Link to the wishlist (or message us for details and/or donations of items you already have)! https://a.co/0e0tMkPt

Thank you to everyone for all the continuous support you show to our TBHC Team. We truly appreciate it so much.

We’re so excited to keep our residents busy and happy outdoors this year! Who’s ready for fresh garden goodies and sunny days? ☀️🥒🍅

Meet Quinton D. Sutton-Branson Jr., our talented Dietary Manager here at The Bridges of Hendricks Creek! 🍲❤️

Born in Baltimore and raised in Wilson, NC, Quinton grew up in a family full of faith, music, and incredible home cooking. At just 9 years old, he was right beside his grandmother—a true community pillar—helping prepare soul-warming meals like homemade pies, fried chicken, collards, chicken pastry, and hot water cornbread for family gatherings and guest ministers. That early love for the kitchen sparked a lifelong passion!

Quinton honed his skills at the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts and brings over 23 years of experience in healthcare food service. He's a Certified ServSafe Instructor and Registered Proctor, dedicated to food safety, education, and raising the bar for quality.

To Quinton, food is more than a meal—it's ministry, bringing comfort, joy, and connection to every resident we serve. Driven by heritage, strengthened by experience, and fueled by purpose—Quinton cooks with heart and leads with integrity every day.

We're so grateful to have him leading our dietary team and nourishing our residents with excellence and care! 🙌

🌨️❄️ What a winter wonderland we woke up to last week! Our beautiful community was blanketed in a BIG snowfall – the kind that turns everything into a peaceful, sparkling scene. 🌟

At The Bridges of Hendricks Creek, we take winter weather seriously. Our team prepped ahead with extra supplies, emergency plans in place, and constant checks to keep everything running smoothly. When roads got tough, our Executive Director even broke out the 4x4 to pick up staff members so we could stay fully staffed and ready to care for our residents.

Thanks to everyone’s hard work and teamwork, we made it through without a hitch – all residents stayed warm, well-fed, safe, and comfortable the whole time. No major concerns or hazards disrupted our cozy home. We’re so grateful for our incredible staff and for the resilience of our wonderful residents and their families!

Now that the snow is gone (and we’re all breathing a sigh of relief that it’s over 😅), we’re left with these gorgeous views to enjoy. Mother Nature sure knows how to put on a show!

Stay warm, everyone, and if you’re thinking about a community that truly puts care first – even in a snowstorm – come visit us at 3210 Western Blvd, Tarboro, NC, or email Director@TarboroSeniors.com for more information. We’d love to show you around! 💙

🌟 Employee Spotlight: Jamie Linkous - Maintenance Manager! 🌟

We are so grateful for the incredible team members who make The Bridges of Hendricks Creek feel like home every single day. Today, we want to shine a well-deserved spotlight on Jamie Linkous, our Maintenance Manager!

Jamie is a native to the Edgecombe County area where he, for over 20 years, proudly served the Town of Macclesfield in their Maintenance Department before retiring. Instead of hanging his hat up, Jamie brought his skills and big heart to TBHC in 2023 — and he’s been a dedicated part of our leadership ever since!

Whether it’s keeping everything running smoothly, going above and beyond to ensure our residents are safe, comfortable, and always have what they need, or preparing and responding to extreme weather, hurricanes, outages, and system failures, Jamie is always there — truly dedicated 24/7. His consistency, reliability, and genuine care make such a difference for our residents and staff alike.

Thank you, Jamie, for your commitment and being such a vital part of our Bridges family! 💙 We appreciate you more than you know!
