Delayed radiation injuries, including soft tissue and bone necrosis, can occur months or even years after radiation therapy. These conditions may lead to tissue damage, chronic wounds, and complex healing challenges.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is sometimes used as part of a treatment plan for certain radiation-related injuries. Ongoing research continues to explore its potential role in supporting recovery and improving care for patients affected by delayed radiation injuries.

Getting started with HBOT is simple. Your physician will provide a referral to our hyperbaric center, where our team will conduct a full evaluation and work with your doctor to determine if HBOT is the right treatment for you. We’ll guide you through the entire process, answer any questions, and ensure you feel comfortable before beginning therapy.

When you arrive, please bring a photo ID, your insurance card, your physician’s referral, and a list of current medications.

Is it a normal wound — or something more?

🩹 Normal wounds gradually close and improve over time.
❌ Chronic wounds stall, linger beyond 4 weeks, or show signs of infection.

Warning signs include increasing pain, redness, drainage, odor, or no visible progress. If healing feels delayed, don’t wait. Chronic wounds require expert care to prevent serious complications.

During deep sleep, your body repairs tissue, regulates inflammation, strengthens immune response, and restores energy. Consistent, quality rest is one of the most powerful tools for recovery.

For patients undergoing hyperbaric oxygen therapy, sleep remains an essential part of the healing process. While hyperbaric therapy enhances oxygen delivery to support tissue repair, restorative sleep allows your body to fully utilize that support.

Healing is a partnership between advanced care and healthy habits — and it starts with rest. For additional support and resources, we recommend https://oxy-mat.com/

This International Women’s Day, we honor Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.

Her work during the Crimean War transformed patient care by prioritizing sanitation, hygiene, proper wound management, and data-driven medicine — dramatically reducing infection and mortality rates. Her legacy continues to influence wound care, infection prevention, and hospital safety standards today!

We celebrate the women who continue her mission of advancing healing and compassionate care. Learn more at https://www.history.com/articles/florence-nightingale

March is National Nutrition Month — a reminder that what you eat directly impacts how your body heals.

For individuals living with diabetes, balanced nutrition plays a critical role in maintaining stable blood sugar levels and supporting tissue repair. Elevated glucose can slow healing and increase the risk of infection, making proper nutrition an essential part of recovery.

Meals rich in protein, vitamin C, zinc, fiber, and adequate hydration can help strengthen immune response, improve circulation, and promote wound healing.
If a wound isn’t healing as expected, nutrition may be part of the conversation.

Winter may be ending, but lingering injuries are common this time of year.

In March, we often see patients who experienced:
• Slips and falls
• Fractures or sprains
• Slow-healing surgical wounds
• Circulation-related delays in recovery

If healing feels stalled, advanced therapies that improve oxygen delivery and tissue repair may help. Don’t let a winter injury follow you into spring. Contact one of our centers today: https://lifesupport-usa.com/lst-hospital-network/
