Common misconceptions during pregnancy:

" Dr. I can't eat fish or sushi because of mercury and possibility of bacterial infection"

Fish/Sushi: good to eat in moderation. FDA advises eating up to 12 ounces ( two average meals) per week of a variety of fish that are low in mercury. Therefore, fish that live for a long time and eat lots of other fish are excluded, such as shark, swordfish, king mackerel, tile fish, albacore tuna and whale.
In fact, infectious diseases from raw fish are virtually a nonproblem in the US because most sushi is flash frozen, which kills most pathogens.

Bon appetit!
