Mardi Gras 2026 is in the books! It was a great time. Started out with Music by Scooter, King Cake and then there was the Mardi Gras Parade - we paraded up and down the halls and passed out beads to all of the residents!! They loved th music coming down the halls!
Seriously - there is Never a Dull moment at SPJST Skilled Nursing Home And we love it that away!

Chocolate Covered Strawberries!!!
Thursday we did Chocolatencovered Strawberries- told them that we could not eat any cause they were for Friday! Apparently they could not resist- found numerous of evidence of eaten strawberries and finger licking - lol
After all strawberries were done Shirley suggested that we take Cheerios and coat them with chocolate! To make a chocolate cherrio bark (please note: Gloves were changed out multiple times)

I want to give a big shout out to my Activity Assistant, Tammie & Memory care coordinator, Katelynn, and my Legacy (Friday) Volunteer Students! They are the BEST and I am very Blessed to have them on my side! With all of the craziness going on this week, from going room to room to get resident votes, decorating Wed evening, taking down tables, putting up tables, preparing snacks for the valentines party, washing dishes, making center pieces for the tables, gathering residents for our activities, taking the back to their rooms, etc. the list can go on… all of that on top if holding the daily activities
They made sure things were perfect and made sure the residents had a smile! I have one of the hardest working activity teams and I am very thankful for them! Thank you for going with my craziness and making sure it is perfect!!

Celebration for Valentine’s Day with a big party for the residents and continuing our tradition of crowning our 2026 SPJST King & Queen. With voting of the residents and staff we were able to crown our 2026 SPJST Duke & Duchess and our 2025 SPJST King & Queen!!!

The SPJST Skilked nursing & Rehab celebrated Valentine’s Day with a Sweetheart Luncheon for our couples. The couples were able to enjoy a dinner for 2 and each lady received a Red Rose. They were served Lasgna, Creamed corn, salad, with garlic bread and a Chocolate Silk pie,
The Legacy student volunteers jumped in and help decorate and served each table
It was a sweet start of celebrating Valentine’s Day

We Love our Grandbabies! The Grand baby project is one of the BEST things that we introduced to our Dementia residents. Our Memory care unit utilizes the doll therapy everyday! March will be our 2 year anniversary having the Grand Baby Project!

2nd Annual Pinewood Derby Races!
Thorndale FCCLA and Taylor Legacy students teamed and help residents build their pinewood derby cars and cam back the following Friday and we raced them! They then selected the winners of each category!

2026 Snowball Fight!!
