Judy was born April 19, 1946 to Lloyd Lee Reese and Mae Hefner Reese of Alexander County, NC. Judy was known from a young age for her brilliance, intelligence, and academic disposition, as well as her deeply loving and caring nature.

As a young woman, she met and married Jerry Michael Nance, who would become her husband of 61 years. Judy was also a devout woman of faith. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1971, after which she faithfully served Jehovah God in the Taylorsville congregation until her death. She was known within the congregation for the same love her family knew her for, as well as her attention to detail and her ability to remember everyone, including their names and their individual needs.

Judy spent 30 years working diligently in income tax service before retiring to serve as a caretaker for her family. She was a meticulous homemaker, gardener, and organizer. Judy never met a task she couldn’t improve upon or organize further, to a degree that few could match.
