Yesterday we celebrated the most wonderful time of the year with a Christmas party for our residents. We enjoyed lots of delicious finger foods, played fun games, and were even visited by the big man himself — Santa Claus! Santa made sure every good boy and girl received a special gift, and the joy on their faces was priceless.
A huge thank you to the Tazewell County Virginia Sheriff's Office, MSA Healthcare Caris Healthcare for donating their time and supplies to help make this party such a success. Your generosity and kindness truly helped make the day merry and bright for our residents. We are so grateful for the amazing community support we are blessed with!

Last week we celebrated our monthly birthday party in true holiday style with our ugly Christmas sweaters! Everyone enjoyed delicious sausage balls, sweet cupcakes, and lots of laughs while playing a lively game of Pass the Gift. It was an afternoon full of smiles, surprises, and birthday cheer!

Over the past several days we have been creating Christmas ornaments out of candy, making Christmas trees out of ice cream cones, and a trip to the Broadway Cinemas to watch the Grinch. Between the laughs, the creativity, and a few tasty treats, it’s been nonstop holiday cheer around here! We love keeping our days full of fun, friendship, and festive moments—especially during the most wonderful time of the year!

Ronnie and Kay truly blessed our residents at Dogwood Crossing Senior Living & Memory Care. Not only do they visit monthly to sing and share the Word, but this Christmas they also brought thoughtful gift bags for our seniors. We are so grateful for their hearts for ministry and for the joy they bring to our community each and every visit.

We were honored to welcome members of our local VFW, who stopped by our facility to show their appreciation for our veterans. They brought beautiful fruit baskets and gift bags filled with goodies, and most importantly, kindness and gratitude. Thank you to the VFW for taking the time to recognize those who have served our country—it truly meant so much to our veterans and staff.

Destiny Outreach Ministry visited our facility, sang Christmas carols, and delivered gifts to our residents. Thank you for making our residents feel so loved and remembered this holiday season.

We had a wonderful time celebrating the season at our annual employee Christmas party! From delicious food and fun games to great prizes and lots of laughter, it was a day full of joy and appreciation.

We are so thankful for our amazing team and truly appreciate the thoughtful fleece jackets gifted by the company — a warm reminder of how valued our employees are.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this celebration special. We are blessed to work alongside such a great group of people!

Today our residents had a wonderful time making homemade cinnamon ornaments! They mixed the dough, rolled it out, chose their favorite shapes, and helped us bake them to perfection — and the entire building smelled like Christmas.

Today on Willows Grove, our residents created beautiful Christmas wreath paintings using cotton balls and clothespins — simple tools that make a big difference. After painting, everyone added a festive bow to finish their artwork!
Activities like this aren’t just fun — they are wonderful for seniors with memory impairments. Using cotton balls and clothespins helps strengthen fine-motor skills, supports hand-eye coordination, and encourages creativity in a low-stress way. The repetitive motion of dabbing paint can be calming, while the bright colors and clear steps help stimulate memory and focus.
Most importantly, art gives our residents a sense of accomplishment and joy — and today, their smiles said it all.

Christmas cheer came to Dogwood Crossing!
We were blessed with a visit from the New Covenant Fellowship youth, who caroled beautifully for our residents. Doorways, hallways, the sitting room — everywhere you looked, there were smiles.

Thank you to everyone who came out for our holiday dinner last night! We had a great turnout, wonderful food, and live music. I didn’t get many photos, but the evening was full of joy and holiday spirit.
We appreciate everyone who helped make it possible!
