We’re already hard at work planning an exciting lineup of 2026 events here at Claiborne County Animal Shelter — and we can’t wait to share them with you!

Keep your eyes peeled 👀 — event dates and applications will be posted in the next couple of weeks!

But first… we need a little help from our amazing community 💛

🧘‍♀️ Cat & Kitten Yoga in the Cat Cottage
Yes, it’s exactly as adorable as it sounds. We’re looking for a certified yoga instructor who would love to lead classes surrounded by purrs, whiskers, and tiny toe beans.

🎨 Craft Classes in the Cat Cottage
Painting is the first thing that comes to mind — but we’d LOVE to offer other creative classes too! Think:
🖌️ Painting
🧵 Simple sewing or fiber crafts
🕯️ Candle making
🌿 DIY plant or terrarium workshops
🎀 Pet-themed crafts
…or any fun, beginner-friendly craft where people can relax, create, and maybe have a kitten supervising their work.

Update:. We will still meet at 1pm for the meals on wheels 2/2/2026!
RESCHEDULED FOR MONDAY FEBRUARY 2nd at 1pm!! Mark your calendar if you want to be a part of this in anyway! This is a project that is so very important to me and is so needed in our county! Help me make it a reality. We already do it every other week on Thursdays and we cook every Wednesday at the center with some deliveries that day too.

Poultry Applications have been dropped off at Cumberland Gap High School and at Claiborne High School today! Any student in 9th - 12th grade interested in participating in the Poultry Project can pick up an application in the High School office. All other 4-H members will receive their applications during their in-school club meetings this month!
