This is a revealing and important article for all of us to read and consider as parents and as responsible members within our communities. Human interaction and play experiences as well as risk-taking and problem-solving opportunities allow our children to grow up and develop vital skills that enable them to be independent and productive. We need to take this seriously. This is our future.

The environment in which kids grow up today is hostile to human development.

I am honored to have been invited to speak on the topic of Sensory Self-Regulation for CHADD (see below). This subject may resonate if your child often appears disconnected, disorganized, inflexible and/or demanding. This live (and free!) webinar presentation will address physical restlessness, explosive tantrums and lack of impulse control. I will also examine the behavior of children who frequently seek-out or actively avoid sensory experiences (e.g. touch pressure, various textures, noises, bright lights, strong smells or flavors). Finally, I will explain and highlight the relationship between Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), followed by Q&A.
