❤️The Nurse Honor Guard pays tribute to nurses at the time of their death by performing the Nightingale Tribute — a moving ceremony that mirrors the dignity of a military service, officially releasing the nurse from their earthly duties of care and compassion.

❤️It was truly an honor to witness this ceremony and to work alongside such dedicated professionals who serve with grace and reverence.

Meet “Ace” — the new Top Dog on Pottawatamie Street, Tecumseh, Michigan, USA 🇺🇸

We’ve had dogs around the funeral home for about 30 years — four of them total. Each one loyal, loving, and smarter than a few of the undertakers I’ve known (myself included).

My dad, Gil Purse, loved having a dogs here. When our last one, “Shelby”, passed in 2008 — just months after my dad died — I couldn’t bring myself to get attached again. That loss hit hard.

✅ But loyalty has a funny way of finding its way back.

✅ Now Ace is carrying on the tradition — keeping watch, greeting visitors, and making sure morale stays high. He’s already earning his keep… one Milk-Bone at a time. 🐶
