This is my favorite question to ask. 🌿

“Hey, how have you been since your last adjustment?”

And every single time, I get to hear something that reminds me exactly why I do this work.

No more constipation. Sleeping through the night. Sciatic pain almost gone. Baby flipped head down. Headaches? Haven’t had one since last week.

This is what happens when we stop chasing symptoms and start supporting the system that runs everything — your nervous system.

These aren’t miracles. This is your body doing exactly what it was designed to do when the interference is removed. 🙌

Parenthood changes how you see behavior and development 🤍

What looks “clingy,” “hyper,” or “sensitive” often makes sense when you understand nervous system development. Kids aren’t trying to be difficult. They’re adapting.

This is why we focus on regulation in our office. When the nervous system feels safe and supported, sleep improves, transitions get smoother, and movement becomes more organized.

You don’t have to guess whether something is normal. You can look at how your child’s system is functioning.

If something hasn’t felt quite right, trust that instinct.
Comment CHECK and we’ll help you decide if your child should be evaluated.

So many parents come to us having already tried everything. 😵‍💫

And they’re exhausted — not because they didn’t work hard enough, but because the foundational piece was still missing.

A dysregulated nervous system can’t consistently access learning, connection, or growth — no matter how good the therapy is. That’s what we address.

Newborns arrive with a nervous system story.

🤍 You didn’t mess your baby up.
🌿 Early support isn’t about perfection. It’s about ease.

If feeding feels hard, inconsistent, or stressful, it doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong — and it doesn’t mean your baby is difficult.
Babies feed best when their nervous system feels calm, coordinated, and comfortable in their body.

🍼 Tension in the jaw/neck can make feeding feel like a battle
💨 Popping off, clicking, choking, or gas can be clues
🧠 There’s often a nervous system story underneath

Care for babies is gentle and specific, and it works best as part of a team (lactation + bodywork + a plan that fits your story).

If feeding has been weighing on you, scheduling a visit can bring clarity and support.

Another ear ache. New antibiotic. Same story.

Kids’ ear tubes are shorter and more horizontal, so fluid can hang around longer — especially with colds. But we also look past the ear itself:

👂 Upper neck + base of skull
🦷 Jaw tension and clenching
📍 Head position over the ribs and how well everything moves

Gentle support in these areas can help reduce tissue tension and improve the mechanics that allow fluid to drain.

Always loop in your pediatrician for high fever, intense pain, or a kid who seems really off. This is not an either/or.

If ear infections are repeating, it may be time to ask a different question than “What medication now?” Booking an evaluation can help.

If you’ve said “It feels like my kid has been sick since November,” you’re not alone.

Yes, school/daycare adds exposure. That part is expected. What we care about is the pattern:
🌀 Do they get sick, recover, and have a stretch of feeling good?
🫠 Or does one thing bleed into the next until everyone is miserable?

A nervous system that never truly rests — short nights, high stress, constant screens — has a harder time clearing and bouncing back. It’s like running a marathon on four hours of sleep.

Chiropractic care isn’t a forcefield. Kids will still meet germs. The goal is better breathing mechanics, more drainage, deeper rest, and a system that can take a hit and recover instead of staying stuck.

If your family is in the “back-to-back” loop, you can schedule a visit through the link in bio.

If the same spot keeps clogging or turning into mastitis, it’s not you being “bad at emptying.”
Your breast tissue doesn’t live by itself — it’s connected to your ribcage, upper back, collarbone, shoulder mechanics, and lymph flow.

🧠 Stiffness + posture can affect drainage
🤱 Repetitive nursing positions can overload one side
💛 Supporting movement can support healing

We’re not replacing medical care, and red flags always mean calling your OB/primary. We’re simply helping your body move, drain, and recover more effectively.

If this pattern is on repeat, booking a visit can be a helpful piece of your plan.

Dear Parents 🤍

You’re not lazy. You’re exhausted.
You’re not failing. You’re carrying a lot.

🧠 Your nervous system matters too.
🤍 Support is allowed.

Roses are red, violets are blue, when your brain feels safe, it is easier to be you. 💛

This Valentine’s Day, let’s talk about the greatest love of all: helping your child’s nervous system feel safe enough to thrive.

When a child feels safe—truly safe at a neurological level—their body can rest, their brain can focus, and their true personality can shine through. But when their nervous system is stuck in stress mode, everything becomes harder: learning, connecting, regulating, growing.

Our work at Taproot is all about helping kids’ brains feel safe again. Safe enough to play. Safe enough to learn. Safe enough to grow and develop. Safe enough to just be kids.

That’s the kind of love that changes everything. 💕

“It’s just colic.” If you’ve heard this from your provider while your baby screams for hours every day, I’m so sorry. Because that’s not an answer—that’s a dismissal.

Here’s what “colic” actually means: “We don’t know why your baby is crying.”

But as a neurologically-focused chiropractor, I can tell you there’s almost ALWAYS a reason:

🔴 Birth trauma affecting the vagus nerve
🔴 Nervous system stuck in fight-or-flight mode
🔴 Structural tension from positioning in utero or birth interventions
🔴 Digestive issues stemming from nervous system dysfunction
🔴 Inability to regulate and shift into parasympathetic (rest-and-digest) mode

Babies labeled as “colicky” are often babies whose nervous systems are dysregulated. They’re stuck in survival mode—and in that state, they literally CANNOT calm down, no matter how much you rock them, shush them, or try to soothe them.

It’s not your fault. You’re not doing anything wrong. Your baby just needs support.

When we address the root cause—the nervous system dysfunction causing the distress—babies stop “having colic” and start thriving. They eat better. They sleep better. They’re happier. And so are their parents.

Your baby’s constant crying is their body’s way of telling you something is wrong. Please don’t let anyone convince you to just “wait it out.”

If your baby:
✅ Cries for 3+ hours a day
✅ Arches their back constantly
✅ Has difficulty feeding
✅ Seems uncomfortable or in pain
✅ Can’t settle or calm down

Get their nervous system assessed by someone who understands the neurological implications of birth trauma and infant distress.

You deserve answers. Your baby deserves relief. And “it’s just colic” is neither.

This is what I do. This is why it matters. 🤍
