Chiropractors need adjustments too — and honestly I look forward to mine every single week. 🌿

There’s something a little dramatic about laying on the table and not being able to adjust yourself though. 😂 The struggle is real.

This is your reminder that chiropractic isn’t just something I recommend — it’s something I live. My nervous system gets checked and adjusted regularly because I know what happens when it doesn’t. The patience gets shorter. The sleep gets worse. The overwhelm creeps in.

Sound familiar?

You deserve the same thing I give myself every week. Consistent care. A regulated nervous system. A body that feels supported instead of just surviving.

Regulation develops in layers.

It’s built through connection in infancy, supported practice in toddlerhood, guided independence in preschool, and refined over years in school-age children.

So when a child struggles with impulse control, emotional flexibility, or stress recovery, the first question shouldn’t be, “Why can’t they behave?”

It should be, “Is their nervous system ready for what we’re asking?”

If your child seems consistently behind in regulation or melts down more often than peers, that’s worth exploring. Pediatric chiropractic care supports nervous system function so development can unfold more smoothly.

If this resonates, schedule an assessment and let’s look at what their system might need. 🧠

If your child is constantly crashing, jumping, or moving nonstop… that’s not “too much.”

For many kids, proprioceptive input is how they regulate. It helps them feel grounded, organized, and calm. When they don’t get enough, arousal stays high, emotions escalate faster, and focus gets harder.

Movement is communication.

And if your child seems like they’re always seeking input just to stay steady, their nervous system may need extra support. Chiropractic care helps reduce underlying stress so their body doesn’t have to work so hard to regulate.

If this sounds familiar, schedule an assessment and let’s take a closer look. 🧠

Your child isn’t giving you a hard time. They’re having a hard time. 🤍

Every behavior has a purpose. Every meltdown, every refusal, every moment of crashing into furniture or covering their ears in a crowded room — their brain is trying to tell you something.

The question isn’t “how do I stop this?” The question is “what is my child’s brain trying to accomplish right now?”
Some kids are seeking input — crashing, chewing, spinning, always moving. Others are avoiding it — shutting down in noisy places, refusing touch, melting down after a full day of holding it together.

Neither is bad behavior. Both are communication.
When we look through a brain-based lens we stop reacting and start understanding. And that’s where real growth happens — for them and for us.

This is the work we do at Taproot. Helping families understand the why behind the behavior so kids can build stronger tools for connection, learning, and thriving. 🌿

If this resonated, save it for the next hard moment. And if you’re ready to go deeper — link in bio to book a visit.

Focus is a motor skill before it’s an academic one 🧠

The cerebellum helps coordinate more than movement, it supports timing, sequencing, and attention. That’s why running, climbing, spinning, and crossing midline actually build the foundation for sustained focus.

When kids struggle to sit still, follow directions, or switch tasks, it’s often not a motivation issue. It can be a sign their motor and attention systems aren’t fully integrated yet.

If your child concentrates better after moving, that’s not a coincidence. It’s cerebellar priming at work

If you’re seeing focus challenges, it may be time to assess how their nervous system is developing. Pediatric chiropractic care looks at the motor and neurological foundations behind attention, not just the behavior. Schedule an evaluation and let’s build the base first. ✨

We heard nervous system and we showed up fully equipped. 😎📋 And yes, when I say we, I mean all 3 of me 😜

Insight scans. Activator. Binoculars for finding subluxations from a distance. We don’t miss.

In all seriousness though — nervous system health is kind of our whole thing. 🌿

At Taproot we use objective nervous system scans to show you exactly what’s going on inside your body and your kids’ bodies. No guessing. No “you seem fine.” Just real data and a clear path to actually feeling like yourself again.

If someone mentions the nervous system in public, we will find you. And we will help you. 😂

Many families assume they should “wait and see.”

But nervous systems adapt quickly — and when they adapt under stress, they often compensate. Over time, those compensation patterns can show up as sleep struggles, feeding difficulty, emotional reactivity, focus issues, or sensory overload.

Pediatric chiropractic isn’t just about pain. It’s about supporting nervous system regulation during key developmental and adaptation phases.

Earlier support is often simpler, more effective, and prevents bigger challenges later.

If you’ve been wondering whether it’s time to get your child checked, this is your reminder that you don’t have to wait for a crisis.

Schedule an evaluation and let’s look at how their nervous system is functioning.

Behavior is communication 🧠

Defiance, aggression, hyperactivity, shutdown… those are outputs. The nervous system state underneath is the driver.

If sleep is off, sensory load is high, or stress is constant, the system shifts into survival mode. And survival mode doesn’t produce calm or cooperation.

Discipline may quiet behavior temporarily. It doesn’t regulate the system creating it.

If you feel like you’ve tried everything and nothing sticks, it might be time to look deeper.

Schedule an evaluation and let’s assess what your child’s nervous system actually needs ✨

Before you call it defiance — consider this. 🤍

When your child “forgets” their homework, their chores, the thing you told them three times this morning — it might not be attitude. It might be a brain under stress that literally couldn’t store the memory in the first place.

A stressed nervous system has a hard time holding onto future instructions. Busy mornings, school pressure, transitions — all of it taxes the brain’s ability to process and retain. What looks like “I don’t care” is often “I genuinely couldn’t hold onto that.”

So instead of repeating yourself louder or escalating consequences, try this: give their brain an external anchor.

A sticky note in their locker. A reminder on their notebook. A note tucked in their backpack. Small, simple, zero power struggle.

You’re not letting them off the hook. You’re meeting their brain where it actually is — and building toward stronger planning and memory skills over time.

This is what it means to parent through a brain-based lens. 🌿

Save this one for the next frustrated morning. And if your child is consistently overwhelmed, dysregulated, or struggling to keep up — that’s a nervous system conversation. Link in bio to book at Taproot. 🌿

Growth doesn’t just stretch bones. It stretches the nervous system. 🧠

When kids grow quickly, their brain has to recalibrate balance, coordination, spatial awareness, and regulation. That recalibration can temporarily show up as sleep disruption, clumsiness, big emotions, or shorter patience.

It’s not regression. It’s integration work.

In our office, we assess how well a child’s nervous system is adapting during growth phases. When alignment and neurological communication improve, kids often move through these shifts with more stability and fewer disruptions.

If growth spurts consistently bring sleep or behavior changes, it may be time to visit a pediatric chiropractor and evaluate how their system is functioning.

If I could tell every mom one thing about their child’s health, it would be this. 🤍

Your kid doesn’t have to keep cycling through ear infections, antibiotics, sinus issues, and tummy problems like it’s just “normal kid stuff.” It’s common — but it’s not normal.

Here’s what most parents don’t know: all of those things have one thing in common. The nervous system controls the immune system. When there’s interference in the spine, the brain can’t communicate clearly with the rest of the body — and kids get stuck in a constant state of stress, inflammation, and sickness.

Chiropractic care removes that interference and gives their little nervous systems the chance to do what they were designed to do — heal, regulate, and thrive. Naturally and safely. 🤍

This is what neurologically-based pediatric chiropractic is all about. And it’s exactly what we do at Taproot.

What helps a baby doesn’t help a 7-year-old — and that’s expected.

The nervous system develops in stages. Babies need help with regulation and sensory safety.

Toddlers need movement for cerebellar integration. Kids need cortical support for attention and impulse control. School-age children need help managing increased demands.

You can’t expect focus and self-control without first supporting regulation and coordination.

DM “AGE” and tell us what you’re seeing — we’ll help you figure out what support fits your child’s stage.
