✅ Week 7 complete!

• 60 mile week
• Back-to-back 60+ mile consistency
• Threshold session executed
• Marathon pace rhythm workout completed
• 18 mile long run with strong fast finish
• 2 physique lifts 💪🏽
• Kept muscle while endurance climbed

———

Key word: GLYCOGEN!

Fuel the work. Refill the muscle. Recover fast.

That’s how I keep fullness, hold muscle, and stay lean while running high mileage.
-Undereat and you flatten out. 🥵
-Fuel correctly and you perform. 💪🏽

———

Week 8 gets smarter.

Sharper workouts
Fresh legs
More specific marathon work
Physique still a priority
Closer to race-day ex*****on

———

Currently taking clients on for fitness, life and leadership coaching.

DM me “COACHING” and let’s get to work.

✅ Week 5 complete!

• 2 quality sessions (threshold)
• Long run (controlled with strength late)
• 2 physique lifts
• 1 durability / mobility session

This upcoming Week 6 shifts everything

➡️ Introducing true marathon pace work

Rolling into Week 6!

✅ 1 Month In… while enjoying every part of the day:
work… family… fitness

Week 1 → 30 miles
Week 2 → 41 miles
Week 3 → 51 miles
Week 4 → 56.2 miles

Started with control…
learning how to actually run EASY

Then added effort…
now it’s precision… staying controlled at faster paces

More miles
Better ex*****on
No wasted reps… same mindset as NPC

Week 4

• 2 quality sessions (threshold)
• 16 mile long run (progressive finish)
• 2 physique lifts
• 1 durability session

📈 PRODUCTIVE — right where I need to be

Fitness is starting to climb… and more importantly, I’m actually absorbing the work.

It’s interesting…

Coming out of NPC prep, I realized something…

This marathon build feels VERY familiar.

Not because of the workouts…
But because of the approach.

During prep:
• Every meal had a purpose
• Every lift was intentional
• Every adjustment was calculated

No guessing. No emotion. Just ex*****on.

And now?

It’s the same thing… just applied to running.
• Easy runs = controlled
• Threshold = precise
• Long runs = intentional

No wasted effort. No random pace. No ego.

That’s how progress actually happens.

👉 Control
👉 Discipline
👉 Ex*****on

The formula doesn’t change.

✅ Week 2 complete

Week 1 was about control…
Learning how to stay EASY… building the aerobic base.

Week 2 i added difficult runs

After laying the foundation, this week was about progression…
slightly more miles, slightly more intensity… without losing discipline. Yes, I wanted to go out crazy, but it’s about CONTROL

Monday
5 miles easy + upper body physique lift

Tuesday
7 miles alternating pace workout
(introducing controlled faster efforts)

Wednesday
5 miles easy

Thursday
5 miles easy + durability / mobility

Friday
4 miles easy + upper body lift

Saturday
4 miles VERY easy

Sunday
13 miles long run
Progresive increments every 3-4 miles, last mile marathon goal pace (~6:30/mi)

Totals
41 miles running
2 physique lifts, 1 mobility session

This is where training shifts.

From just “running miles”…
to actually becoming a stronger runner.

Holding form when effort rises.
Recovering faster between efforts.
Learning what race pace will eventually feel like.

Feeling great ✌️

Week 1 — Marathon training conplete!

After finishing NPC prep, this week was about shifting gears… rebuilding endurance while maintaining the muscle built during prep.

Monday
3 miles easy + upper body physique lift

Tuesday
4 miles easy

Wednesday
5 miles easy + upper body physique lift

Thursday
4 miles easy + durability / mobility workout

Friday
4 miles easy + lower body physique

Saturday
3 miles very easy

Sunday
7 miles long run

Totals
30 miles running
3 physique workouts, 1 mobility workout

The hardest part this week wasn’t the mileage… it was the temperance for every run to stay EASY

Yes, it’s tempting to push the pace. But aerobic development happens when the effort stays CONTROLLED.
Easy miles build the engine, improve recovery, and allow bigger weeks later without breaking down.

This phase is about discipline…I know the challenging and fun workouts are just around the corner.

Building the base… one controlled mile at a time.

✌️

💪🏽 Bodybuilders think marathoners lose muscle.
🏃 Marathoners think bodybuilders can’t run.

So naturally…I decided to try both.

One week ago I stepped on stage at an NPC Men’s Physique show 🏆

Now the focus shifts to preparing for the Rock ’n’ Roll San Diego Marathon (26.2 miles). 🥇

The big question that’s asked:

“How are you going to keep muscle while marathon training?”

Here’s the plan:

1️⃣ Keep lifting
2–3 strength sessions each week to maintain muscle stimulus and keep the physique work in the program.

2️⃣ Fuel the miles
Running volume goes up → carbs go up, especially before a workout.
Protein stays high to support recovery and muscle retention. HIT DAILY PROTEIN NUMBERS!

3️⃣ Train with intention
Running is now the priority, but strength training stays in the schedule to maintain balance and durability. Mobility/Durability days are a must.

4️⃣ Balanced mindset
You don’t have to choose between endurance and strength if you program intelligently.

This is going to be an interesting experiment.

Goal:
🏃‍♂️ Strong marathon performance (aiming for 2:50:00)
💪 Keep as much muscle as possible

Let’s see how it plays out.

Medal Monday… with a twist🥇

Normally the medals in my office come from races.
This time they came from stepping on a bodybuilding stage.

Different arena. Same mindset.

Grateful for the challenge… and for a family that supports every crazy idea I chase. 💝
