I have been mighty quiet outside of the office. A little update for what's on the agenda for 2026

Outside of my normal individual availability. I am in the process of starting a few groups that I feel are important.

Anxiety and Depression skills and support group that will run 6-8 weeks for two hours once a week. Heavily CBT DBT based .

Parenting the Nuerospicy this will be a group for parents and parent figures. It will be educational , skills and resources based with open small groups in each session.

Special education support group. This is a group for parents that need to start the IEP process for their children. We will go over Laws , Rights and Responsibilities of the school district. Steps to take to request an assessment. Outcomes and accommodations to help our kids.

This will be a two day intensive course taking place over two weeks.

Location for small groups will be at my office meeting room in Temecula, the larger groups have a few venues in the works within a 4-5 mile radius of my office in Temecula.

More info to come with detailed info about the structure and content of these groups.

****Possible future groups (im still compiling and creating the instruction portion of these groups. **"

New Dads support and education group

Young persons relationship support group

Parents of LGBTQ+ support and educational group.

Late diagnosis ADHD and Autism support and educational group .

The MAHA Report released last week increases ADHD stigma by claiming the condition is overdiagnosed and disparaging its treatment as ineffective without citing any credible evidence. Notably, it does not mention the proven, life-saving benefits of ADHD treatment or the risks associated with undiagnosed, untreated ADHD. This is worrisome. https://www.additudemag.com/maha-report-adhd-takeaways/

One of the most important lessons. So many times we want to tell kids how to feel. When we really it is best to support them while they feel it, and build their own toolbox.

Fun mindfulness skill I took from a funny post and twisted into my own sick therapy skills book(prob straight out of a mindfulness book.) Find a time of day to listen to an entire album, vinyl, cd, tap, ancient iPod with old music, Spotify (ok with no ads) . Close out every other tab, turn off phone (DND, notifications off if you have to use a phone) , turn off every distraction, find a comfy spot to sit or lay and sink into it 100% , good or bad, what do you hear, what do you feel, what do you think? Do it for a day, how do you feel, make a game of finding something obscure, listening to every album from someone, listening to the top whatever from a decade. Do it for a week, do it for a month, Just close your other tabs and do it. We always have so many tabs open, how do you think you would feel if you closed all your tabs for 45-60 minutes a day? No news, no instant notifications, just you, your mind, and some music.

Lola my cotherapist passed away in her sleep last night after having progressingly worse seizures all year. I will be taking the rest of the week off. Thank you to all the people who spent time with her and brought her love, snacks and tacos to the office. I hope her short time with you was as great as it was for me.
