Does hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) help people suffering from Lyme disease?
With Lyme, we know that there is this generalized inflammatory response that's going to be responsible for a lot of tissue damage and a lot of cellular dysfunction.
We also know that it's an infection, and so the immune system is going to be compromised on some level. And the immune system is going to need the energy to really fight and quarantine this infection properly.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy has the capacity to help patients on all of those different levels.
We know that HBOT has a way of helping to reduce inflammation.
We also know that hyperbaric oxygen therapy has the capacity to upregulate white blood cell function.
Lastly, we also know that the hyperbaric chamber also upregulates collagen and fibroblast formation and upregulates stem cell mobilization.
As we mobilize all those different ingredients and growth factors, we can start stimulating those cells and tissues to repair themselves, to regenerate, and then to regain normal, healthy function.
