Good Morning Sunshines!

As we enter into Motivation Monday, I want to share something with you.

I always joke with people and tell them by the time you get to my age, you know someone missing a back tooth.

We've all sat in that dreaded dental chair faced with an impossible decision. Hundreds or possibly thousands of dollars for a tooth people can barely see, or paying your car payment or light bill. Hell, that's even a trip to Tulum.

So you say okay, I can live without it. You endure the pain of the extraction and you heal over time. You even forget about the decision until you smile wide enough to notice or bite into something and think, "Dang, my tooth is gone."

But that is life. It is filled with adventure and decisions. Sometimes you have to remove the rotten things to get better.

I was listening to Sarah Jakes-Roberts while I was cooking dinner last night, and she was talking about God's promise. That's always been a struggle of mine because I never felt like God promised me anything. Nor do I expect anything.

But she referenced the book of Acts. And suddenly my mind remembered that Acts is called acts because it is when the apostles are called to ACT on God's promises.

And just like pulling my tooth, I am constantly making the decision to act on God's message to me. I am constantly obedient to the calling no matter how hard the decision.

This is why Tricky Royalty exists. Not just to serve you coffee, but to create spaces where we can act on God's promises together. Where we can support each other through the hard decisions. Where we can celebrate the healing and forget about what's missing because we're too busy smiling wide with our community.

So come sit with me. Bring your stories, your struggles, your smiles (missing teeth and all). Let's color, celebrate, dream, and walk together through this season.

Because sometimes the best decision you can make is showing up—for yourself, for your community, for the calling.
