Healing isn’t always the inspiring, feel-good journey people make it out to be. Sometimes it looks like outgrowing people you thought would be in your life forever. Sometimes it feels lonely, confusing, or heavier before it feels lighter. And sometimes it means disappointing people who benefitted from the version of you that didn’t have boundaries or self-trust.

If you’re in a season where everything feels unfamiliar, it doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong. It often means you’re growing in ways you can’t fully see yet.

Give yourself permission to change. Give yourself permission to rest. Give yourself permission to become someone who feels safe in her own life.

Baby BOY is arriving February 2026! Our hearts are already overflowing with love, joy and anticipation.

We can’t wait to meet our son, hold him in our arms, and step into this new chapter of parenthood side by side. Murphy is already practicing his “big brother” role and is ready to share his toys!

Meet our newest member of the team! Murphy!

Hi, I’m Murphy 🐾
Service Dog + full-time Chief Happiness Officer
At Empowering You Therapy, I’m here to help you feel grounded, calm, and maybe even smile on the hard days. I don’t talk much, but I do listen really well! I’m also an expert in staying present (and adorable).

Healing doesn’t always start with words.. sometimes it starts with a golden retriever.

How can a dog help during our session?

✨ Reduce anxiety & stress – Petting a dog can lower cortisol and increase serotonin and oxytocin (aka, feel-good hormones).
✨ Provide grounding & comfort – Their calm, steady presence can help people feel more regulated during therapy sessions.
✨ Increase motivation – Dogs encourage routine, movement, and social connection, especially for those struggling with depression.
✨ Offer nonjudgmental support – Dogs don’t interrupt, give advice, or rush your story—they just stay with you, exactly as you are.

That’s why we’re so proud to have Murphy, our certified service dog, on the team at Empowering You Therapy. Sometimes healing starts with a soft nudge and a wagging tail.

Hello and welcome to my page!

Empowering You Therapy provides individual therapy to adolescents and adults. I believe in an “Empowerment Approach”. Even though you may not realize it, you have many strengths and skills within you that I build upon and use in reaching your goals. You deserve it and owe it to yourself to gain back control of your life and live to your fullest potential. Regardless of what brings you to seek therapy services I am here to help in your journey.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have experience working with preteens, adolescents, and adults. I am certified in treating diverse populations dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, women issues, grief, and other challenges that life may bring you. I use a client-centered approach and we move at your own pace.

Empowering You provides a warm, non-bias, safe, and therapeutic environment. I understand that life can be tough at times and making your initial therapy appointment can be the hardest step.
