Align Technology is proud to collaborate with the University of Bern on Switzerland’s first large‑scale oral health study by providing our iTero Lumina™ intraoral scanner, which will have a central role in the study’s data collection.
As part of this important study aimed at improving oral health outcomes, the research team led by Professor Dr. Hendrik Meyer‑Lückel of the Clinic for Conservative, Preventive, and Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Bern, is using the iTero Lumina to capture consistent, high‑quality oral health data across the Swiss population.
The iTero Lumina is helping researchers:
🔎 Capture challenging areas, including palatal surfaces, edentulous spaces, partially erupted teeth, and crowded teeth with greater clarity
🦷 Strengthen diagnostic insights through near‑infrared imaging (NIRI), which visualizes internal tooth structures in real time
This collaboration exemplifies how academia and industry can advance innovation.
