Gloria A. Hatt, a devoted mother, grandmother, and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026, at The Highlands. Born on August 28, 1939, in West Reading, Gloria lived a life marked by dedication, warmth, and a love for family and friends.

A 1957 graduate of Reading High School, Gloria embarked on her professional journey with Bell Telephone, where she contributed five years of service. Demonstrating a strong work ethic and a welcoming spirit, she later joined Met-Ed. There, she worked as a receptionist and phone operator until her well-earned retirement in 1999. Gloria's commitment to her work was a reflection of the care she extended to everyone around her.

Gloria’s personal life was filled with joy and meaningful connections. She cherished spending time at her beloved Ocean City, Maryland, where she owned a condominium that became a gathering place for her family and many close friends in the community. Her involvement extended beyond her home and took pride in her membership with the Fraternal Order of the Elks #2645 Ladies Auxiliary of Ocean City, Maryland. She was also an active member of Rosedale United Church of Christ.

Her family was the cornerstone of her life. Gloria is survived by her sons, David Nally, husband of Gina, and Kenneth C. Hatt, husband of Jennifer. She also leaves behind her treasured grandchildren, Lauren and Ryan Hatt, who brought her immense joy and pride.

Gloria was predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, Charles T. Hatt, as well as her parents, George and Blanche E. (Heinly) Wagaman.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Gloria's name may be made to Rosedale UCC, 1301 E Bellevue Ave, Laureldale, PA 19605.

Her passing leaves a profound void among those who knew her, yet her legacy of kindness, dedication, and community spirit will continue to inspire and comfort all who were fortunate to share in her life. Alex Jay Seigfreid, affectionately known as Axel, passed away on April 17, 2026, in Bernville, Pennsylvania, at the vibrant age of 24. Born on March 25, 2002, in Lebanon, Axel lived a life brimming with energy, kindness, and unyielding spirit, leaving an indelible mark on everyone lucky enough to know him.

Alex was a wild child with a heart of gold, effortlessly balancing his outgoing nature and caring soul. His spirited personality made him a beloved friend to many, and his zest for life was evident in everything he did. Whether tearing up dirtbike trails or cruising on his sportbike, he found joy in the outdoors, where he also cherished hunting and fishing adventures. Yet, above all else, Alex’s greatest passion and pride were found in being a devoted dad to his son, Derek H. Zimmerman, for whom he would move mountains.

Professionally, Alex was dedicated to his work at Pioneer Homes, where he applied his strong work ethic with enthusiasm. For several years, he was also a compassionate caregiver to his father, embodying the deep care and devotion that defined much of his short but impactful life.

Alex leaves behind a broad and loving family circle who will carry his memory close to their hearts. His parents, Jay A. Seigfried, Jr. and Stacey S. (Raihl) Strunk, along with his son Derek. He is survived by his siblings Zachary Strunk, Shevelle Strunk, Jessica Strunk, Jay Seigfreid, Alexis Martinson, Tonie Martinson, Payne Seigfreid, and Kobalt Seigfreid. Further extending his family web are his aunts Jackie Curran, Cheryl Major, Patti Auman, and Debbie Howard, uncles Buddy Seigfreid, Jack Esterly, Michael Raihl, and Brian Raihl, and his paternal great-grandmother Doris Yeager. From his maternal side, he held close the memories and ties with great grandparents Theresa and Harvey Bradley, great-grandmother Joyce Raihl, and grandmother Rose George. Cousins Victor Rivera, Jon Rivera, Jamie Curran, along with numerous other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, also cherish his memory.

Alex was predeceased by his brother Jeffrey Strunk, paternal grandmother Irene Seigfreid, maternal grandfathers Glenn George, Randolph Raihl, and Phillip Raihl, and maternal great-grandfather Raymond Bechtel. Their presence in his life and memory has shaped the man Axel joyfully became.

A viewing to honor Alex’s life will be held on April 28, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Kirkhoff Funeral Home, located at 206 North Main Street, Bernville, PA 19506. Following the viewing, a funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM in the same location. Friends and family are invited to gather, share stories, remember his boundless spirit, and celebrate the remarkable journey of this vibrant young man.

Walter J Haas, Jr

Walter J. Haas, Jr., a devoted family man and respected member of the Reading community, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 13, 2026, in Reading, Pennsylvania. Born on December 17, 1940, in Reading, Walter's life was marked by kindness, dedication, and a deep commitment to those he loved.

Walter was a proud graduate of Reading High School. He dedicated much of his career to the Teamsters Union #429, faithfully serving Bachman Foods in the shipping and receiving department. His tireless work ethic continued until his retirement at the age of 62 in 2002, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and reliability.

Family was the cornerstone of Walter’s life. He was known for his kind and loving nature, always putting the needs of his loved ones first. Over the years, Walter found his greatest joy in helping to raise his family and cherishing the precious moments spent with his grandchildren—seven grandchildren Joseph, Nathan and his wife Jordan, Sofia, Dante, Zachary, Tyler, and Nicholas, two great-grandchildren Valentino and Francesca who brought so much light into his life.

Walter is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Maria (DiMarco) Haas, whose partnership and love were a constant source of strength. He also leaves behind his cherished step-sons, John Fioravanti and his wife April of Temple, PA, and David Fioravanti and his wife Julie of West Chester, PA. His close bonds extended to his sisters, Louanna Schell of Mt. Penn, Shirley Buck of Mt. Penn, and Becky (Mildred) and his cherished brother-in-law Charlie Wilson who will be deeply missed of Reading, who remember him fondly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter J. Haas, Sr. and Ruth Mary (Dwyer) Haas, whose legacy he carried forward through his own commitment to family and community.

Walter J. Haas, Jr. touched many lives through his steady devotion and genuine kindness. His memory will forever remain a guiding light to his family and all who knew him. His life stands as a testament to a deep and enduring love for family, a tireless dedication to his work, and an unwavering spirit of kindness. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Maryan M. Kissinger passed away at the age of 82 from a long illness. Maryan was born August 15, 1943 and graduated from Reading High School. She worked as a secretary and later in life was self-employed as a housekeeper before retiring.

Maryan liked to make flower arrangements and wreaths to sell at craft shows. She loved feeding her bluebirds and would whistle to them when she fed them. She owned dogs through the years that she loved to play with and walk.

Maryan was married 44 years to Gary Kissinger before his passing. She has 2 sons, Chris Stankiewicz, Gary Kissinger Jr. ,1 granddaughter Hannah Kissinger and 2 sisters Antoinette Lozinski and Joan Kiwak.

A funeral service for Maryan will be held on Tuesday, March 17 at 11:00 a. m. in Host church, 36 Host Church Road, Bernville. Friends and family are invited for a closed casket visitation in the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment will follow in Host church cemetary.

Steven A. Sharp, 82, born on May 29, 1943, and lovingly known as one of a kind, passed away on March 10, 2026, at Reading Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind a legacy woven with humor, love, and a remarkable knack for making life memorable.

As a proud United States Navy Veteran, Steve was a man who served his country with honor. The majority of his professional life and career was spent as the owner and operator of S&S Mushrooms. Steve's life was composed of laughter and love, most notably resonating from his devotion to his family.

Steve was equipped with a unique sense of humor that filled his family’s lives with joy. Steve always looked forward to summer, when he could vacation with his family in Ocean City, New Jersey, spending sunny days on the beach and making lasting memories together. He enjoyed gardening and puttering around outside. Often, you could find him watching the Philadelphia Phillies games, usually driving his wife, a little crazy—in the most endearing way possible. This year, they would have celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on April 11, an extraordinary milestone testament to their love.

Family was everything to Steven, who had big ideas and plans galore, especially when it came to his cherished grandchildren—Gabriel, Sofia, Julian, Natalie, Samuel, Jackson, and Maria. He enjoyed sharing his wisdom and advice on all things with his grandchildren and anyone else who would listen. Steven is survived by his beloved wife, Sylvia; children Andrea Curtis, wife of Christopher, Daniel Sharp, husband of Amy, and Stefanie Wagner, wife of Chris; and grandchildren who adored their PoPPoP.

He is also preceded in death by his parents, Harry A. and Elizabeth "Louise" L. (Rocktashel) Sharp, and his brother, Jeffrey Sharp.

A visitation to celebrate Steven's life will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Milkins Trymbiski Funeral Home, 4914 Kutztown Road in Temple, PA, from 10 AM to 12 PM.

Mildred was a proud graduate of Bethel High School, where she laid the foundation for a lifelong passion for learning and community service. Her career at the Reading Postal Office enriched not only her life but also the lives of countless others she encountered during her years of dedicated service. A devoted cat lover, Mildred always had a soft spot in her heart for her feline companions.

One of Mildred’s greatest sources of pride came from her time as a United States Navy Veteran, where she served as a Hospital Corpsman working as an X-Ray Technician. Her commitment to serving her country reflected her strong character and instilled a sense of duty that resonated deeply throughout her life. After her military service, she remained proud of her service and was an active member of the Berks County Women Veterans Association.

Mildred’s legacy extends beyond her accomplishments; it is woven into the lives of her siblings, Richard Forry, husband of Christine, and Pearl Boone, wife of the late Donald Boone; Brother-in-law, Richard Otto. Together, they shared countless memories, forged enduring bonds, and supported one another through life's ebbs and flows.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Alvin J. and Anna (Bordner) Forry, and sister. Gloria Otto, who undoubtedly shaped the remarkable woman she became. Their love and guidance remained a beacon of strength throughout her years.

Funeral Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

Patricia was predeceased by her parents, Ivan L., and May M. (Becker) Meck, whose love and guidance shaped her into the remarkable woman she became. Donovan, 30, of Blandon, passed away on February 22, 2026, leaving a legacy of love and resilience that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew her, and is now home with God, embraced in eternal peace. Born on June 29, 1995, Alisa was a beacon of light, known for her vibrant spirit and unwavering zest for life, despite the struggles she faced throughout her adolescence and into her adult years.

Alisa dedicated her career to helping others as a Home Health Aide, where her compassionate nature shone through in every interaction. She derived great joy in providing care and support, embodying the essence of kindness that defined her.

Her greatest joy was undoubtedly her beloved daughter, Za'Mira Farley. Alisa loved Za'Mira more than anything, cherishing the special moments they shared together. The bond they formed was a testament to Alisa's devotion and strength, a love that only grew deeper over the years.

Alisa held a unique connection with her Nana, Deborah Pflueger, who she referred to as her person. Their time spent together was filled with laughter, lessons, and memories that Alisa treasured deeply. It was a relationship that reinforced the importance of family, grounding her amid life's challenges.

She is survived by her devoted mother, Danielle (Pflueger) Mayer. Her mother was her rock and her safe place, the one who lifted her from her lowest moments, stood beside her through every mistake, and together they learned, grew, and found strength in each other’s unwavering love. She is also survived by her step-father, Patrick Mayer. Alisa also leaves behind her loving step-siblings, Nathan Mayer, husband of Jill, and Marley Mayer, companion of Brady Handwerk, who provided her with additional support and love throughout the latter half of her life. In addition, she is mourned by her uncles, Bruce Pflueger, Jr., husband of Denise; and Barry Pflueger, husband of Jodi; and her Godmother, Angie Schlenker. Alisa is also lovingly survived by many additional family members and friends whose unwavering care, support, and deep affection filled her life with warmth and belonging.

Although Alisa's maternal grandfather, Bruce Pflueger, has passed, he was a prominent figure in her life and his memory remained a guiding light for Alisa, shaping the woman she became.

Alisa’s service will take place on Friday February 27, 2026, at Milkins Trymbiski Funeral Home, 4914 Kutztown Road, Temple. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm with a memorial service beginning at 7:00 pm in the funeral home. The family kindly asks that attendance at the service be limited to local family and friends, and looks forward to honoring her memory with a memorial gathering in Philadelphia at a later date, where all who loved her will be warmly welcomed to celebrate her life.

As we say goodbye to Alisa, let us remember her as a vibrant soul whose love for her family knew no bounds. Her story reminds us all that life’s struggles do not define us; rather, it is our spirit, our connections, and our love for one another that lights the way forward.

Born on January 29, 1938, in Dudley, PA, Anna dedicated her life to caring for others, a trait highlighted in her esteemed career as an Activities Coordinator at County Berks Berks Heim Nursing Home and Myerstown E.C.C. for over 17 years. She relished every moment spent with her clients and colleagues, creating lasting memories and meaningful connections.

Anna's warmth and loving spirit extended far beyond her professional life. She was known for her caring personality, as well as her passions for reading and solving crossword puzzles. Most importantly, she cherished the time spent with her family, which brought her immense joy and fulfillment.

She leaves behind a devoted family that includes her 6 children, Vicky M. Souders, her sons Douglas D., husband of Darlene, Charles M., husband of Cindi, and Barry D., husband of Donna. Anna, Valerie A. Bashore, wife of Todd, and Annieta L. Bower, wife of Craig. Her legacy continues through her 19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, who will fondly remember her loving presence. Additionally, she is survived by her sister Urcille Grove.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents, the late John McCue and Hazel (Hess), and her 3 sisters Jean, Elli and Terry.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the viewing on February 10, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at Kirkhoff Funeral Home located at 206 North Main Street, Bernville, PA. Burial will take place in the Little Swatara Church of the Brethren Cemetery at the convivence of the family.

Anna M. Fornwalt's life was a testament to love, care, and devotion, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all whose lives she touched.
