Today’s takes us to your Austin VA Outpatient Clinic to meet Monica Keller.

Monica has been taking care of with VA for over a decade. She earned her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Texas and now serves in Health Care for Homeless Veterans, where she supports Veterans experiencing homelessness or at risk of losing stable housing.

In her role, Monica helps Veterans connect to safe housing, health care, and the benefits they have earned. She works closely with each Veteran to remove barriers, coordinate services, and make sure they receive the care and stability they deserve. Her work is rooted in a simple but powerful belief: one homeless Veteran is one too many.

Due to continued winter weather conditions, all appointments will be converted to telehealth or VA Video Connect across all sites of care today, Monday, January 26, 2026, and tomorrow, Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

While in person visits are being adjusted for safety, we will continue to meet the needs of our Veterans. Care teams will reach out directly if there are any changes or special instructions related to your appointment.

All medical and surgical procedures scheduled for January 26 and January 27 will be rescheduled.

The weather forecast continues to call for icy roads and snow across Central Texas. Your safety is our top priority.

We will delay the start of outpatient and administrative operations at our medical centers and outpatient clinics until 10 am on Monday, January 26. Morning appointments will be converted to virtual visits or rescheduled. If your Monday morning appointment is affected, a staff member will call you with details specific to your visit.

Our Temple VA Emergency Department remains open to care for our Veterans. We will continue to monitor weather conditions and share updates about any impacts to operations.

Please stay safe and use caution if you must travel.
