The VLB Texas State Veterans Homes provide affordable, long-term nursing care for Texas Veterans, their spouses and Gold Star parents. Conveniently located across Texas, each first-class facility is designed to enhance quality of life with a clean, caring and dignified setting appropriate to those men and women who have served our country with honor. Ombudsman Resource Information: A long-term care ombudsman helps residents and family members of a skilled nursing facility resolve complaints. Help provided by an ombudsman is confidential and free of charge. To speak with an ombudsman, a person may call the toll-free number 1-800-252-2412.

Let's make this Christmas season special for our Texas Veterans! 🎁

Commissioner Buckingham encourages Texans to adopt a Veteran this holiday season by participating in Angel Tree donations at the VLB's Texas State Veterans Homes.

Every year, our Veterans homes display an Angel Tree for Veterans to share their Christmas lists with their community.

You can visit one of our participating Veterans homes, select an angel from the tree, and provide the Veteran's gift by the specified deadline.

VLB Chairwoman Dawn Buckingham, M.D., recently joined Texas VLB Executive Secretary Tony Dale along with state and local leaders in Temple to celebrate the William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home's 25th Anniversary.

For two and a half decades, the outstanding staff at this home has been proudly providing the utmost care and respect to Texas Veterans, their spouses, and Gold Star parents.

Serving our brave Veterans and their families is truly an honor, and we are committed to caring for those who have selflessly defended our nation.

Yesterday, Texas VLB Chairwoman Dawn Buckingham, M.D., was honored to present the William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home with a certificate commemorating its 25th Anniversary.

Named after U.S. Army First Lieutenant William R. (Bill) Courtney, this home has been proudly serving Veterans in the Temple community for over two decades.

Earlier this month, our Veterans enjoyed a fun afternoon looking at all the animals at the Topsey Exotic Ranch & Park in Copperas Cove!

On Memorial Day, we held a wonderful ceremony here at the William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home!

Pastor William Sterling was the guest speaker for our ceremony, and the Trail Life Troop TX-1274 carried flags for each branch of the Military.

Special thanks to Renae and Natalie Rivera for singing the National Anthem and God Bless America.

We threw a special Valentine's Day party to let our wonderful Veterans know they are loved and appreciated.

Thank you for showing so much love to our Veterans on Valentine's Day!

We've received well over 1,200 Valentine's cards, including a special batch from the kind students at Meadows Elementary School at Fort Cavazos!

Also, special thanks to VLB Outreach Rep. Travis for dropping off the cards at our home. It truly brightened up our residents' days.
