Sometimes grief arrives quietly.
Sometimes it crashes in without warning.
When a community experiences loss, even indirectly, it can stir up more than we expect.
You might notice:
• Heaviness in your chest
• Trouble sleeping
• Feeling distracted or irritable
• Wanting to pull away
• Tears that seem to come out of nowhere
• Old losses resurfacing
Grief doesn’t follow rules. It doesn’t wait for a “right” relationship or a certain level of closeness. It simply shows up where there has been connection, compassion, or shared humanity.
If you’re feeling “off” lately, there may be a reason.
Be gentle with yourself.
Slow down where you can.
Check in with your children — they often feel more than they say.
And remember, it’s okay to need support.
You don’t have to carry hard things alone.
