So many feelings, thoughts, and emotions around this decision! Being a Doula is an amazing stepping stone in my journey, and is still something i will continue to do for the early phases of Midwifery training. Please Note: for the next two years, I will ALWAYS consider supporting repeat families as a doula (no matter where you're birthing)!!! Please share your wonderful news with me as your families grow and lets navigate how I may be of help together.

For any new families I have not yet supported, I am tied to (willingly😜) for the foreseeable future and I would love to support your growing family while learning hands-on skills in real time 🫶

If you are a praying person, please send some my way, as learning to step into such a different birthing support role will tug on my heartstrings along the way 🥹🙏

Piggy-backing off the previous post:

As I was getting ready to leave the *Sisters* birth the other night, the new mama told me "[Sister] said there would be a moment where I feel like I'm dying, and Kalyn will get you through it. She was right!"

Lol this tickles me 😆 this moment happens for a lot of mamas. I make eye contact, I get on their level, I redirect their focus, I help them breathe, I do whatever it takes to pull them back in and get them through the hard parts to holding their beautiful baby in their arms.

It feels magical every time.

I have supported so many families in their journeys. Families who become friends, co-workers who recommend me to their circles, a doula to another doula, even my own best friend. I have recently supported the sister of a previous family, and their mama is such a beautiful person and, I know, the best grandma. She leads with love like Jesus and has poured her prayerful heart over her daughters in birth.
I feel so blessed to know this family and to have felt the love of this family in so many ways!
The sisters both chose for their care and had incredible births🙌🤍

First baby of the year arrived fast and furious last night, born to my best friend 🥹

There is something so special about being asked into such a sacred space by people you love 🫶

I am forever grateful to every family I get to work with, and feel especially honored when I get to be present for the births of tiny humans whom I love and will get to watch grow!

My sweet friend was an absolute rock star birthing her 6th baby 😭😭 i get to be a proud doula, bestie, and auntie all at once 🤍

So many families are struggling in this season of life, and still deserve to have support during their labor and birth.

Most insurance companies recognize the benefits of supporting childbirth these days. If they cover any portion of doula services or childbirth education, it is worth asking your prospective doula if they can help you navigate that. (I CAN! 🎉)

With the holidays upon us, having doula funds on your Christmas wish list is another great way to save your own out of pocket expenses. This also works for birthdays and anniversaries too 🫣

If you meal prep, are crafty, offer massage or other therapies, your doula may just take you up on bartering services! We love a good deal as much as anyone! 🤑

Some doulas offer discounts for working with certain providers, certain birthing locations, military, repeat clients, etc. Many offer discounts around the holidays or last minute booking specials. It is always worth asking!🫶

If your friends and family want to support your birthing experience this way, it is a great option for crowd funding for a very exciting purpose 😍 babies only need a few outfits and diapers and to be held and fed. They dont need 16 contraptions, all of the accessories, or that thing that has bad reviews but you want it bc its cute 😂 you DO NEED someone who knows the proper way to do hip squeezes, rebozo sift, and the miles circuit tho 💁‍♀️
