Looking back on 2025 with so much gratitude 🤍⁣

One of those moments where time slows, instincts sharpen, and closeness matters. Standing in the birth tub with this beautiful repeat family, gently unwrapping a snug nuchal cord, reminded me exactly why I do this work. Birth is intimate, powerful, and sometimes requires us to be right there—heart to heart, hands steady, fully present.⁣

There is nothing more special than walking alongside families through their journeys, and it becomes even sweeter when they invite me back again. To be welcomed into your homes, your sacred spaces, and your growing families—again and again—is an honor I never take lightly. Repeat families hold a deep kind of trust, and I am endlessly grateful for it.⁣

Home birth with a licensed midwife is rooted in safety, skill, and relationship. It is about knowing when to step in (literally), when to hold space, and how to support the full arc of pregnancy, labor, birth, postpartum, and beyond. It’s about honoring physiology while being prepared, attentive, and grounded in evidence-based care.⁣

2025 reminded me just how incredible families are. How strong birthing parents are. How tender and transformative these moments can be. And how deeply meaningful it is to witness love expand as families grow even bigger.⁣

Forever thankful for the tubs, the trust, the pool parties, and the privilege of doing this work 🤍 💦

Merry Christmas 🤍🎄🎁✨⁣

Laboring through Christmas Eve and into Christmas Day—soft lights glowing, steady breaths, time stretching in that quiet, powerful way that only birth can. While the world celebrated and slept, this family labored with strength, patience, and so much love, crossing from one day into the next as they prepared to meet their baby.⁣

There is something especially sacred about birth on these nights. The waiting. The trust. The gentle unfolding. Sitting with families during moments like this—when holidays blur and what matters most comes into focus—is a reminder that birth doesn’t follow a schedule or plan, and love always shows up right on time.⁣

As Christmas morning arrived and I’m turned into the afternoon, the room was filled with anticipation, connection, and the kind of magic you can’t wrap or place under a tree. Just presence, support, and the incredible power of a family growing. A beautiful and unexpected perfect holiday team. ⁣

Sending deep gratitude to the families who invite me into their homes and hearts—on ordinary days and holy ones alike. Merry Christmas ✨🤍⁣

✨ 🩵 🌊 🩵 ✨ ⁣

Like the ocean, pregnancy, birth, and motherhood move in cycles.⁣

There are moments of stillness, moments of intensity, and moments where you’re asked to surrender to the pull and trust your body’s wisdom. ⁣

Each wave comes, crests, and recedes—making space for what comes next.⁣

The winter solstice marks the longest night of the year, a turning point where the darkness pauses and the light slowly begins to return. It’s a reminder that even in the deepest, quietest seasons, something is shifting. Growth is happening beneath the surface.⁣

Whether you’re growing a baby, birthing something new, or learning how to mother in a different season—honor the ebb and flow. ⁣

You are not meant to stay in one tide forever.⁣

Reminiscing on this incredible birth and family. ⁣

Under the soft glow of Christmas lights, in the warmth of their own home, a mother labors in the birth tub—just moments away from meeting her second daughter. ✨⁣

Surrounded by holiday magic, deep love, and familiar comforts, this birth was a beautiful reminder of what home birth and midwifery are truly about: presence, trust, and family.⁣

It was an honor to support this incredible family for the second time and witness their hearts expand as they welcomed new life—right where they belong. 🤍⁣

A Christmas birth, wrapped in peace, connection, and the quiet miracle of home.

You are allowed to outgrow what no longer fits. 🤍⁣

Families evolve. Bodies change. Identities expand.⁣
Pregnancy stretches you in ways you never imagined.⁣

Birth asks you to release control and trust something deeper.⁣

Postpartum reshapes your rhythms, your needs, your boundaries.⁣

What once felt right may no longer serve you—and that is not failure, it’s growth. You’re allowed to rest more, ask for help, say no, rewrite expectations, and choose what nurtures your family now. ⁣

Outgrowing is part of becoming. And every season of parenthood invites you to soften into who you are meant to be next. 🌿✨⁣

Across oceans, villages, cities, and birth rooms, this work continues to call me deeper. 🌍✨⁣

I’ve been honored to travel the globe offering midwifery education, support, and collaborative care—standing beside incredible midwives, students, families, and health-care providers who are doing the hard and holy work of improving maternal and infant outcomes in their own communities. From international conferences to hands-on trainings in rural clinics, every experience has shaped me, stretched me, and reminded me why I said yes to this path in the first place.⁣

And still, the calling grows.⁣
There is so much more to be done—stateside and around the world.⁣
So many systems to strengthen.⁣
So many midwives to uplift.⁣
So many families to serve with dignity, evidence-based care, and compassion.⁣

As I begin planning next year’s trips, my heart is filled with purpose and gratitude. This work is a privilege. A responsibility. A calling that continues to guide me, challenge me, and remind me that change is possible—one birth, one training, one community at a time.⁣

Here’s to continuing the work.⁣
To listening, learning, teaching, and serving.⁣
To showing up wherever I’m called—with open hands, an open heart, and deep respect.⁣

🌿 For mothers.⁣
🌿 For babies.⁣
🌿 For midwives.⁣
🌿 For the future we’re building together.⁣

India, you changed me. And I carry you with me everywhere I go. 🤍✨⁣

Being a Midwife is one of the most sacred and transformative callings I’ve ever known. ✨ It’s not just a job — it’s a way of life. It calls you to show up with your whole self: your intuition, your steady hands, your knowledge, and your heart. It asks you to hold space in the in-between — between fear and trust, between contraction and surrender, between one breath and the next.⁣

I feel so deeply grateful to walk this path with this incredible Midwife sister, someone I absolutely adore and love sharing birth space with. Together we’ve been in the quiet hours of the night, through the intensity, the calm, the laughter, the tears — all of it. There’s an unspoken bond that forms when you’ve stood side by side as new life enters the world. 🌿⁣

This work is beautiful, raw, exhausting, and holy all at once. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done and the most extraordinary thing I’ve ever been called to do. To witness birth, to serve families, and to walk with women in their power — it’s a privilege beyond measure. 🩵⁣

🍂✨ Autumn is here, and just like the seasons shift, so many families in our community are in a beautiful season of their own—awaiting the arrival of new life. My heart is so full knowing that this fall (and beyond!) our practice will be welcoming more little ones earthside, watching families grow, and holding space for incredible moments of strength, love, and transformation.⁣

To all the families in our care, and to those who will join us in the months to come—you are not alone on this journey. You are powerful, capable, and surrounded by support. Together, we’ll walk this path, through every contraction, every breath, and every joyful first cry.⁣

Here’s to cozy fall days, growing bellies, and all the new beginnings just around the corner. 🍁🧡

✨ Welcome to the world, little one ✨⁣
Born safely at home, surrounded by love. 💕⁣

Choosing a licensed midwife for your home birth means more than comfort—it means evidence-based, individualized care. Research shows that for healthy, low-risk pregnancies, planned home birth with a licensed midwife has excellent outcomes—including lower rates of unnecessary interventions, higher rates of physiologic birth, and families who feel deeply involved in their care.⁣

Midwifery is about partnership, trust, and empowerment. It’s about honoring your body’s wisdom and supporting birth as the natural, powerful process it is.⁣

Every set of tiny feet reminds us why this work matters. 🦶✨⁣

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) has released a statement strongly condemning the Supreme Court’s decision in Medina v. Planned Parenthood. ACOG argues that the ruling, which allows states to exclude certain providers like Planned Parenthood from Medicaid, will worsen health disparities and limit access to essential reproductive healthcare services. ACOG believes this decision will disproportionately harm individuals who rely on Medicaid and could lead to the closure of vital healthcare facilities. ⁣

Key points from ACOG’s statement:⁣

Deepens health disparities:⁣
ACOG asserts that restricting access to providers through Medicaid will negatively impact vulnerable populations, particularly those already facing barriers to care. ⁣

Limits provider choice:⁣
The ruling allows states to exclude providers based on political or ideological reasons, potentially limiting patients’ ability to choose their preferred healthcare provider. ⁣

Threatens access to care:⁣
ACOG warns that restricting funding for providers like Planned Parenthood could lead to clinic closures and reduced access to essential services, including preventative care. ⁣

Targets Planned Parenthood:⁣
ACOG expresses concern that the decision is motivated by political agendas rather than evidence-based healthcare practices. ⁣

Undermines EMTALA:⁣
ACOG has previously voiced concerns about the impact of similar decisions on emergency care and the potential for criminalizing healthcare providers for providing necessary care. ⁣

Midwifery is as ancient as humanity itself—etched into the bones of our collective memory. And yet, it is a profession quietly vanishing in a modern world that forgets how sacred the work truly is.⁣

To be a midwife is to be called. You stand at the threshold of life and death. You shepherd families through their most tender, terrifying, and triumphant moments. You witness first breaths, last breaths, and sometimes… no breath at all.⁣

You sit with steady hands, a watchful heart, and deep wisdom. You hold space not just for the birthing person, but for lineage, story, ancestors. You catch babies, yes—but also grief, trauma, joy, silence, strength, and surrender.⁣

You cry in parking lots, laugh in birth tubs, question everything at 3am. You miss holidays, birthdays, weddings. You show up even when you’re bleeding, even when you’re grieving, even when you haven’t slept in days.⁣

Midwives, I see you.⁣
I honor your heart.⁣
I know how hard it is to keep choosing this path.⁣

This is the hardest, holiest work I have ever known.⁣

To my midwifery sisters—past, present, and future—thank you. For holding the line. For holding each other. For being a light in the darkness.⁣

Let us keep rising for one another.⁣
Let us keep being the hands that remember.⁣
Let us not let this sacred art disappear.⁣

She did it! ⁣

After a cesarean birth with her first baby, this incredible mother chose a different path this time—one rooted in trust, love, and deep intuition.⁣

She trusted her body.⁣
She trusted her baby.⁣
And her family trusted her.⁣

She labored powerfully at home, moving with the rhythm of her body, undisturbed and supported. No cervical checks. No timeline. Just pure, physiological wisdom unfolding.⁣

And when the moment came, she birthed her baby into warm water, surrounded by her loving husband and midwifery team. The room was electric with joy, awe, and reverence.⁣

It was triumphant.⁣
It was beautiful.⁣
It was everything birth can be.⁣

To witness her strength, her surrender, and her sacred reunion with her power was an honor I will carry with me forever.⁣

Mama, your love and dedication to your family, your trust in the process, and your fierce, radiant presence will never be forgotten. I am so proud of you. So amazed by you. So humbled to have been a small part of your journey.⁣

This is why we do what we do.⁣
This is what birth can be.⁣
