A message from Beech Grove Police Chief Michael Maurice:

"It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that today we lost one of our very own, Officer Brian Elliott. Officer Elliott, along with two other Beech Grove Police Department officers, was dispatched at 6:08 p.m. to the 100 block of Diplomat Court for a disturbance. After they arrived, Officer Elliott and another officer were shot. Both officers were rushed to Eskenazi Hospital, but despite the best lifesaving efforts by medical personnel, Officer Elliott succumbed to his injuries. The other officer, who we are not naming at this time, is currently in stable condition and is expected to survive.

My heart goes out to Brian’s wife, Erin, his parents, and all of his family, friends, and loved ones. At this time, I am asking that we lean on one another to get through this.

We are grateful to the team at Eskenazi Hospital, and our law enforcement and community partners for their extraordinary response and support."

Today, we had the pleasure to visit with Terre Haute native and 3 time Olympic bobsledder, Bryan Leturgez. Bryan stopped by to visit with Keith Madley, to donate some Olympic items for the auction at the held at the Wabash Valley Athletics Assoc. Feb. 28th “Play it Forward” event at the Terre Haute Convention Center. Several of our staff got to hear some exciting stories about the 1992, 1994 and 1998 Winter Olympics that Bryan competed it.
The Coca-Cola limited edition pin set and official ring, from the 1996 summer games held in Atlanta, will be a big hit at the event. That year, Bryan was a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). We will get Bryan back soon to talk with our kiddos.

From Feb. 1st through Feb. 14th, our amazing staff left a heart on each kiddos door with a positive affirmation written on it. They did this every night when the kids went to bed, so they would wake up with words of encouragement. Each day the kids would take their hearts to a certain spot in the living unit and create one big heart out of all their individual hearts.

Help us feed a record amount of families next Christmas. Yes, it’s a little under a year away, but the need of our community is growing, and one way our club can help, is creating opportunities to donate all year long.
A $50.00 donation will feed one family the next Christmas season. Any amount of donations is truly needed and appreciated. 😊🎅🏻

What a game! 🏀👏 We are proud of our Holy Cross Knights basketball team for sneaking out a win tonight against Resource Treatment Center. Players from both teams fought hard and showed great sportsmanship. We appreciate all the volunteers who made the night possible and for the fan support from staff and family members in attendance. Thanks Chances And Services for Youth for allowing us to use your gym. 😊⛹🏻⛹️‍♀️
