Yesterday, our Bugby South and Bugby West kiddos, in the PRTF program, had some craft activities. They took their broken crayons and melted them into shapes. The shapes turned out pretty cool. 😊❤️🖍️

As part of Mental Health Awareness Month, on the Terre Haute campus, our youth will be involved in a month long KICKBALL TOURNAMENT. 😊💚
At the end of May, on May 29th, there will be a CHAMPIONSHIP game and a COOKOUT for all the partipants, Gibault youth and staff. 🍔🌭

Shout out to Isaac Anderson! 👏😊
Isaac works out at Anytime Fitness South Terre Haute, and brought some lightly worn tennis shoes to the gym this morning to give to Gibault’s Keith Madley. Isaac said he would rather donate the shoes to the kids at Gibault who would appreciate them. 👟👟👟👟
Our youth can only receive new items as part of their per-diem agencies pay for services. Used items can be “extra” items youth can purchase in the ILP store, which is part of their token economy. Youth earn “money” weekly, and practice writing checks at the store for items they can afford. 💸😊

On the Terre Haute campus, the Gibson West youth did a couple of Earth Day activities this week. They made bird feeders and placed them around campus. They also made their own chia pets, that will soon be growing grass for hair!
Thanks Samantha Johnson, and her staff, for their creativity and keeping their youth engaged.

Jennifer Dorfmeyer has been appointed as the new Director of the Department of Child Services!

Director Dorfmeyer brings a powerful combination of personal experience, DCS experience, and hands-on leadership as a child welfare provider. Her experience, insight, and dedication position her well to make a meaningful impact across Indiana.

IARCA looks forward to continuing a strong collaboration with Director Dorfmeyer as we work together to strengthen services and improve outcomes for children and families statewide.

Gibault is proud to be a COMMUNITY PARTNER with Indiana Youth Institute. Indiana Kids Count Data Book is the topic of today’s Youth Worker Cafe held at the Vigo County School Corporation.

Director of Fund Development, Melissa Reed, received the Chapel of 4 Chaplin’s “Legion of Honor” award for her lifetime career of dedicated and honorable service to her community, faith, and especially the youth of Gibault Children’s Services.

The Legion of Honor award program recognizes ordinary people who do extraordinary things. To honor the legacy of the Four chaplains, this program recognizes selfless service in many forms throughout our communities, schools, neighborhoods, and veteran service organizations. It is a symbol of service to all people regardless of race or faith.

Melissa is delighted to have her name added to this honor roll and is grateful for the opportunities she has through Gibault and the Indiana Knights of Columbus.

Thank you, Steve Lutz, Gibault Board of Trustees Chair, for bringing Melissa to the attention of the Four Chaplains Memorial Foundation. She vows to continue to serve as a source of pride and inspiration.
