IRHA’s Data Committee has released the 2025 Indiana State Rural Health Report. This comprehensive overview examines key factors shaping the health of rural Hoosiers, including social determinants of health, access to care, chronic disease trends, behavioral health, maternal and infant health, and telehealth infrastructure.

Amid ongoing challenges, the report also highlights promising innovations—such as the growth of Mobile Integrated Health programs and new investments designed to strengthen rural health systems.

We encourage rural health leaders, partners, and providers to explore the full report and use these insights to guide future planning and collaboration.

With frigid temperatures expected this weekend, know where to stay safe and warm. Check out Indiana’s warming centers and share this resource with your community.

PLEASE SHARE: Warming shelters and centers are open across Indiana for any Hoosier who needs to get out of the cold.

Shelters are a safe place for anyone needing to get out of the cold for a few hours or to stay overnight. Hoosiers who need additional assistance can call 2-1-1.

IRHA is proud to share our 2026 Advocacy Priorities, outlining key efforts to expand access to comprehensive care, strengthen the rural health workforce, and support healthier, more sustainable communities. These priorities guide our work to secure fair reimbursement, protect essential programs like 340B, reduce administrative barriers, grow education and training pathways, and advance critical infrastructure across rural Indiana.

“As rural communities and healthcare providers remain resilient in an uncertain policy environment, we remain committed to advocate on their behalf with these priorities through 2026 and beyond,” said Cara Veale, IRHA CEO.
