SOUND CARE AUDIOLOGY

The only independent audiology private practice in the area, Sound Care Audiology provides professional hearing evaluation (for medical, legal, occupational, educational and hearing aid purposes), dispenses top brands of new hearing aids, custom earpieces and earplugs, hearing aid batteries and accessories, assistive listening devices, and musician's in-ear monitors, and provides re-programming/modification of older hearing aids, hearing aid repair, some tinnitus treatment and earwax removal on a case-by-case basis. We can also certify patients for free captioned telephones.

In addition to our private patients, we do evaluations for industry OSHA compliance and veteran’s hearing loss/tinnitus disability, and dispense hearing aids for some state and veteran’s programs and many third-party-sales networks affiliated with commercial insurance and Medicare Advantage plans.

All professional services are provided by Sheryl Boatz, Au.D., a Doctor of Audiology with more than 35 years experience, with the help of Stacy, an audiology assistant in training. We take a healthcare approach to hearing loss, looking for causes to determine if medical treatment is needed. We often send test results, interpretation and recommendations to your primary physician, and can refer you to a specialist if needed. We are currently accepting new patients, ages 10 or above, younger on a case-by-case basis.

If hearing aids are recommended, Dr. Boatz will help you choose the BEST HEARING AIDS FOR YOU--your hearing loss, lifestyle, cosmetic concerns, patience level, dexterity and budget. We custom order (no incentive to sell whatever’s in stock) from eight top brands, in eight styles and five price ranges.

Most importantly, hearing aids are programmed precisely using real ear measurement (the method recommended by Consumer Reports). We provide instruction and post-fitting fine-tuning, measure outcomes, offer follow-up monitoring and maintenance, and strive to follow the best-practices guidelines of the American Academy of Audiology.

Professional care is affordable. With a physician referral, we accept Medicare for hearing evaluation, and are in-network with some insurance plans not requiring a referral. For hearing aid purchases, we work with two financing companies offering 12-months-no-interest plans. We pass savings from our buying group affiliations on to you, giving you dependable best-value pricing (not inflated just to have big sales or coupons). We also use itemized billing, meaning our products are priced at or near wholesale list, plus necessary professional services and your choice of follow-up care plans. This lowers up-front costs.
