We appreciate the enormous impact that an individual’s genetic makeup, environmental exposures, life experiences, psychology, nutrition, physical activity, and many other factors have on overall health. Our approach takes all of these factors into account as we dig into root causes of disease. In identifying cause, we aim to eradicate or alleviate disease rather than simply medicating the resultant symptoms. We offer a partnership toward restored health and optimized vitality. I have been working as a nurse since 2010 and practitioner since 2018. As a Terre Haute native, I am passionate about serving the community that has raised me and in which my husband and I are raising our six children. Since starting practice, it has always been very important to me to deliver the quality of care I want for myself and my loved ones. Unfortunately, patient volumes have skyrocketed and large health systems prioritize patient turnover rather than quality of care. When you're sick or have another acute concern, you rarely have any choice in which provider you see. Difficulty obtaining an appointment, hours spent waiting once there, and limited time with provider leave patients feeling unheard and uncertain. Health promotion is neglected and medicine is overutilized. Disease is maintained rather than improved or eradicated. As a provider, I've been told, "You're looking too deeply into it.", "Just get in and get out.", "You spend too much time with the patient." All the while, I am hearing the opposite from patients who want more time with their provider and more answers. I realized that with the current model, there isn't time to dig in and provide the type of care patients are expecting from the healthcare system. At Vitality Refined, we stepped away from the traditional insurance driven system to deliver the care I believe in and that patients have been searching for.
