Union Health Foundation is proud to share a special tribute to the life of John W. Dinkel, who served our organization and community with extraordinary dedication for more than three decades.

In memory of John—and in recognition of his deep commitment to community health—the Dinkel family created the John and Rolanda Dinkel Family Endowment. This lasting legacy will support vital Union Health services for generations to come, with a preference for Oncology care.

John passed away in 2022, but his impact lives on in the countless lives he touched and the continued strength of our mission.

We are grateful for everyone who gives back to support Union Health—especially the Service League for helping fund supplies for the Vigo County Extension Homemakers Clubs and their cherished holiday tradition.
For 50 years, the Homemakers have lovingly crafted handmade Christmas stockings for every baby born in December at Union Hospital. Their creativity and generosity continue to bring joy to families and support our tiniest patients year-round.
Thank you to these incredible volunteers for sharing their time, talent and compassion with our community.

Union Health is proud to honor a cherished tradition that has brought joy to families for half a century.

For 50 years, every baby born in December at Union Hospital has gone home with a handmade Christmas stocking — lovingly stitched by the Vigo County Extension Homemakers Clubs. These stockings symbolize care, community, and holiday joy.

From NICU octopi to blankets and coloring packets, their kindness shines year‑round, bringing joy to families across generations.

🌟 Union Health Foundation Announces 2025 Grant Impact! 🌟

Union Health Foundation has awarded more than 57 grants and numerous scholarships totaling over $900,000 this year! These investments help advance patient care, support families during vulnerable moments, strengthen the health care workforce and expand community health and safety programs across the Wabash Valley. This impact represents just the beginning of the work our donors make possible every day.

✨ 2025 Grant Highlights Include:
- Advancing technology & patient care: SAVI SCOUT breast surgery technology, new infusion chairs, patient transport chairs and more.
- Supporting patients, families & co-workers: Music therapy in Hux Oncology & Hospice, and Safe Sleep sacks for every new family in our Mother/Baby unit.
- Strengthening community health & safety: Support for the Mollie Wheat Memorial Clinic, food insecurity initiatives and respiratory wellness programs.
- Investing in tomorrow’s workforce: Scholarships, continuing education, certifications and leadership development for current and future health care professionals.
