CSS took Busch Stadium by storm – literally! ⚾️🌧️

What started as a rainy afternoon (hello, rain delay!) turned into a beautiful day of baseball. Our Supported Employment group had an absolute blast and even made it onto the big screen!

And to top it all off, the St. Louis Cardinals brought home the win. ❤️🙌

CSS went back to Oneighty and loved every minute of it! 😊Safe to say we’ll never pass up a chance to go back. 💙

What a great afternoon at the Community Resource Fair in Olney at the Olney City Park Community Building! 🙌

A huge thank you to our very own ABC Children’s Program for hosting such a meaningful event and bringing so many incredible organizations together in one place. We were proud to have multiple CSS programs represented, including Community Employment, Respite, and Child & Family Connections #20, who shared resources and connected with the community.

We’re also grateful to Daylight Donuts~~Olney, Illinois and OLNEY IGA for providing refreshments, and to all of the generous door-prize donors who helped make the day even more fun.

Thank you to the many agency participants who shared their time, knowledge, and resources, and to all of the community members who attended. It’s always inspiring to see people come together to support one another and learn about the services available in our area.

We’re lucky to be part of a community that truly shows up. 💙

Everyone enjoys good food, especially when it's shared with great company. From coffee and donuts at Dunkin' Donuts to lunch at the Airport Steak House: Home of the Elephant Ear Tenderloin in Mattoon and grabbing drinks at Ginger Ale's Effingham, the Community Day Services program is always finding tasty ways to enjoy the day together. 🍩☕🍽️

We’re a little late sharing, but we couldn’t let this special evening go by without highlighting it. Night to Shine, sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation, is a worldwide movement that began in 2014 and provides a free prom-night experience for people with special needs ages 14 and older. Held annually on the Friday before Valentine’s Day, Night to Shine celebrates each guest as a king or queen and reminds them of their worth and value.

While every Night to Shine event is unique, many include special touches like a red carpet entrance, hair and makeup stations, shoeshines, limousine rides, karaoke, dinner, dancing, a Sensory Room, a Respite Room for parents and caregivers, and a crowning ceremony where every guest is honored.

Individuals from our Residential program were invited to attend Night to Shine, hosted by the Toledo Christian Church in Toledo, Illinois, and had a wonderful time. They especially enjoyed walking the red carpet, dancing, and riding in the limo. Individuals and staff alike shared that it was a truly special evening, and we are so grateful they had the opportunity to be part of this worldwide celebration.

The CUMC CDS groups have been staying busy, getting out and about in the community, and having fun in the process! We’ll be sharing highlights along the way, starting with these great smiles from their bowling trip at Pagel Silver Dollar Lanes in Effingham and catching a movie at RMC Stadium Cinemas - Effingham. 🎳

Another bucket list experience checked off! 🧡✔💙

A couple of the guys from Intermittent CILA wanted to experience a Fighting Illini Men's Basketball game, and this week we made it happen. From the energy in the arena to the roar of the crowd, they soaked in every second of the atmosphere, and an Illini win made the day absolutely perfect. Moments like this are what it’s all about. 🏀

Who says Valentine’s Day has to mean chocolates? 🍫

This year, a few individuals from our Residential program headed out on the town to enjoy an Everly Brothers Tribute concert at the Paris Center of Fine Arts in Paris, IL— and it was a hit! 💙🎶

Sometimes it seems there's nothing better than an evening of live music with friends.
