Riverview Behavioral Health Hospital

Riverview Behavioral Health Hospital Riverview Behavioral health is a full-service mental health treatment center in Texarkana that provides for adolescents, and adults.

Our main objective at Riverview is to always do what is best for the patient as well as their family. It is our intention to restore you to your highest level of functioning so you can return to your community and enjoy life. We focus on each individual as a whole, working with their problems within the broader scope of who they are as a person, their family and communities. This means each treatment plan is personalized to fit your specific needs. At Riverview we believe in making connections with you and any family members involved in your program plan. For individuals who have reached a stage that makes it no longer possible to be maintained in a home environment we work with families to provide education about possible alternatives and help them identify the best possible option to meet their loved ones need. We also understand how hard this decision can be and provide supportive therapy for families having difficulties transitioning loved ones into long term care.

Riverview Behavioral Health’s leadership team had the privilege of attending the TC Student Nurses Association Health Education Job Fair. Representing Riverview were our Chief Nursing Officer, Melissa L., Admissions Director Perreese G., and Cory R., Director of Business Development.

During the event, our team had the opportunity to connect with nursing students and speak on the rewarding and impactful field of psychiatric nursing. They shared insight into the growing need for compassionate mental health professionals, career pathways within behavioral health, and the meaningful difference nurses can make in the lives of patients every day.

We’re proud to invest in the future of healthcare by engaging with the next generation of nurses and highlighting the opportunities available at Riverview Behavioral Health.

Stress affects more than your mood. It impacts your entire body. When stress becomes ongoing, it can contribute to physical symptoms like headaches, stomach issues, and increased blood pressure, while also affecting your emotional well-being.

Healthy coping strategies like exercise, quality sleep, and connecting with others can help reduce its impact. This month and every month, take time to understand your stress and take steps to care for yourself. https://ow.ly/vl3650YBMwa

There are a lot of assumptions about what happens inside a behavioral health hospital, and not everything you hear reflects the full picture.
At Riverview, our focus is simple, safe care, compassionate support, and a space where healing can truly begin.
This is what care really looks like.

March is Self-Injury Awareness Month, reminding us to approach emotional pain with compassion and care. Many who experience non-suicidal self-injury do so quietly, without feeling seen or understood.

If you or someone you love is facing this challenge, support can make a difference. Professional care offers tools for coping, emotional regulation, and recovery in a safe environment. The first step toward help can lead to lasting change.
