To our firefighters, police officers, paramedics, EMTs, medical personnel, and 911 dispatchers —

Thank you for showing up, again and again.

For the woman who just lost her baby.
For the father trapped in a wrecked car.
For the person who was violated or robbed.
For the child whose tiny body won’t stop seizing.
For the wife who found her husband unresponsive.
For the one whose world no longer feels safe.

You show up — even when your heart is heavy, even when your soul is tired.

You are the steady hands in chaos.
The calm voice in the storm.
The light that runs toward the darkness.

You are heroes — not because you wear a uniform,
but because you choose courage over comfort,
service over safety,
compassion over convenience.

You run into burning buildings.
You face violence and pain head-on.
You carry the weight of humanity’s hardest moments —
and somehow, still find a way to keep going.

Thank you will never be enough.

Today and every day, we honor you —
for the lives you save,
for the families you comfort,
for the sacrifices you quietly make when no one is watching.

May we never take your bravery, your dedication, or your humanity for granted.
