I’m deeply grateful that I have been receiving support from friends, family, and community. I want to continue to do this work as a Doula and Herbalist in the right way with appropriate mentorship and elders in my corner. I hope to continue to center holistic medicine including spirituality. I applied and received a $3000 scholarship from Sacred Vibes Apprenticeship. My immediate support request is for $1000 to start the program which is required to enroll and support with the total cost of the program.

During the 12-month Herbal Apprenticeship Program, I will study the foundations of plant spirit medicine as related to eight different body systems, learning over 25 different plants through an in-depth study of the materia medica.

It’s been awhile we have missed you all! We are back and excited to be hosting a film screening of the documentary: Baka Music and Magic: The Technology of Enchantment.

After the film we will have a discussion on the Indigenous power of music/rhythm for communal healing and psycho-spiritual care, featuring the Baka people of the Congo rainforest

The Baka are in the ancient Hunter Gather groups of the Congo rainforest, region spanning Cameroon, Gabon, DRC, Congo Brazzaville and Uganda Equatorial Guinea Congo. The Congo rainforest is one of the “lungs” of the earth along with the Amazon rainforest both of which have been under threat from corporations, colonizers and their accomplices. It’s important to uplift the knowledge of living ancient people who revere nature and know how to relate it to in balanced ways. We will be sharing organizations who are supporting the Baka and fellow nature guardians. The Baka create nature based instruments and employ polyrhythmic  and polyphonic singing.

I step into my 30th as a Survivor, Story Teller, Teaching Artist, Educator, Doula, Creative, S*x Positivity & Body Positivity Advocate, and so much more.

With a keen disgust for colonization and all things hegemonic, I’ve come this point in my life with a sharp sense integrity and curiousity. I took my time to listen to my body. I unpacked and still am unpacking the many years of trauma. Being embraced by the kindness and grace of my community has been a true gift. I step into this new chapter holding my ancestors’ hands, I’m grateful for all that has shown up in love and all that is yet to come. ✨

These invaluable contributions make our communities healthier and more empowered. On this Womxn’s Day and Month, I hope we unpack what it means to be a womxn or a femme. Do you remember the first time an adult “corrected” your behavior to “better” align with societal expectations, even if said behavior was something you enjoyed? What does that memory feel like in your body? What are some ideas that we were taught as young people around gender that no longer resonate with us?
