During Black History Month, we are proud to recognize Percy Lavon Julian, a visionary chemist whose discoveries helped revitalize modern medicine.

His discoveries helped unlock important medicines derived from plant compounds, contributing to treatments that have supported patient care for generations.

Despite facing significant racial barriers throughout his career, Julian’s scientific brilliance and persistence drove breakthroughs that continue to impact pharmaceutical research and drug development today.

His legacy is a powerful reminder that innovation in healthcare not only advances science, but also expands access, equity, and opportunity for patients everywhere.

BOCA was grateful for the opportunity to donate 90 blankets to residents at DOORWAYS’ Jefferson Avenue Campus this holiday season.

This initiative was about more than staying warm, it was about bringing empathy into action, and reminding individuals that they are seen, valued, and never alone.

Doorways provides critical housing and support to people living with HIV who are experiencing homelessness or severe housing insecurity. Many residents have no income at all, while others are working low-wage, part-time jobs that barely cover the basics.

We are honored to stand with DOORWAYS and support their mission during this season of giving, and beyond.
