At the same time, our hearts are heavy as we witness acts of senseless violence that have shaken communities at home and around the world. We stand in solidarity with all who are grieving and with those who are working tirelessly to bring comfort, healing, and peace.

This week we honor Calvary’s exceptional Nurse Practitioners (NPs), whose depth of care and expertise is both valued and essential for patients and families. In our hospitals, ArchCare nursing homes, and in hundreds of homes throughout our community every day, they manage complex conditions and provide holistic, patient-centered that aligns with each person’s values and their family's emotional needs. Thank you to all our NPs for championing and providing the seamless, high-quality hospice, palliative and end-of-life care experience for which Calvary is known! Happy 6th Birthday this week to Molly, Calvary’s fluffy volunteer registered “pawtner in care,” who has comforted more than 1000 patients and families at our Bronx Hospital. Special thanks to Calvary’s Cathy Kalinksi, RN, CWON (retired), who shares Molly with all of us. Together, they embody the healing power of compassion and a comforting paw, a wonderful gift to the entire Calvary community. We're also grateful to animal healthcare company Zoetis for its generous support of pet-therapy at Calvary. Thank you, Molly, for your unconditional love!

Our ‘tanks’ to Lisa and Craig Stofko, who donated two inquisitive and interactive Blood Parrot Cichlids, in honor of Lisa’s mom, to the Calvary Family Care Center Aquarium. These vibrant colored, gentle, engaging fish are captivating and wonderful to watch for mindfulness and relaxation. This week, as we mark Hospice and Palliative Care Week, part of National Care at Home Month, we celebrate our driving value: compassion. For 126 years, compassion has defined Calvary. We are proud to continue the legacy of the Dames du Calvaire, whose vision still guides us today. Every day, we care for approximately 600 patients and support over 2,000 family members in our hospitals and in their homes throughout Greater New York. To our incredible Hospital, Hospice, and Palliative Care staff: your dedication embodies our mission and makes this vital work possible. Thank you.
