We had an amazing Super Bowl party this weekend — it was a packed house! Residents and staff enjoyed delicious pizza, nachos, drinks, great company, and lots of cheering. A huge thanks to everyone who joined in — it was a blast! 🎊💙

Holiday fun is in full swing at the Oregon Veterans Home – The Dalles!

Residents have been enjoying carriage rides, hot chocolate bars, Christmas carolers, and visits from special guests. So much laughter, music, and festive cheer have filled the home — it’s been a season full of joy and memorable moments!

The holidays are all about connection, and it’s been wonderful to see residents embracing every bit of the fun.

It was a very close one — we loved seeing all of the creative, cozy, and festive winter photos you shared. Thank you to everyone who participated!

Votes were tallied using a combination of Facebook “likes” and votes from the main OVH hallway, and when they were all counted together, Christmas Kitties 🎄🐱🐱 came out on top!

The holiday spirit is in full swing here at OVH! Over the past week, our building has been filled with music, laughter, and so many special moments. We’ve had wonderful volunteers come in to help spread cheer, and our residents have enjoyed cozy cups of cocoa while joining in on decorating Christmas trees. The music, the lights, and the togetherness have made this season feel truly magical. It’s been such a joy to see everyone come together and create these warm holiday memories.

Our Trunk or Treat event was a huge success! Residents, staff, families, and community friends came together for a festive evening filled with creative costumes, decorated trunks, candy, and smiles all around. It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying the spirit of the season and celebrating together.

A big thank-you to all who helped make this event so special — your participation truly brightened the day for the veterans!

The Veterans recently enjoyed a “Photography 101” class with the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center, where they learned about cyanotype photography — one of the earliest photo processes known for its beautiful blue tones. Each Veteran even created their own unique cyanotype print to take home! Everyone had a great time experimenting and learning something new!
