🚿 Color-Sealed Showers Make Life Easier — But a Little Care Still Goes a Long Way!

We love helping homeowners transform their showers — and color sealing is one of the best ways to do it. It doesn’t just make things look clean — it also locks in that fresh, consistent grout color and makes future cleaning easier and gentler. 🙌

But even sealed showers need a little help to stay their best.

This week, one of our techs revisited a customer who said they were following our care sheet — and we could tell they mostly were! But after taking a closer look, we spotted signs of mold and a few spots where the sealer had started to break down.

What was the culprit?
Turns out they hadn’t been running a fan or exhaust to dry the shower — and moisture had been lingering long enough to invite mold back in. Thankfully, our tech was able to hand-clean and re-seal the affected areas, but it was a good reminder that ventilation is your best friend.

Here’s a quick refresher on what helps most after we color seal your shower:

✅ Use a floor fan + exhaust fan after showers to speed up drying.
✅ Avoid bar soaps — they leave behind a film that traps moisture in.
✅ Spot clean with dish soap + rinse with a pH-neutral cleaner — no harsh chemicals or scrub brushes!
✅ Have your cleaning service avoid abrasive tools or products — they are not necessary and strip your protective color seal.

Color sealing helps your shower look better, last longer, and clean easier — but teaming up with the right habits makes all the difference! 👏

🧼 When It Looks Like Something’s Off… But It’s Not 🙌

We recently revisited a customer’s home after they noticed some grout lines looked like different colors. Naturally, they wondered — was it not cleaned well? Was something missed?

So we walked the home together, flashlight in hand.
And what we found wasn’t grout trouble — it was lighting trouble. ☀️💡

The same color sealer had been applied throughout (Alabaster), but a mix of cool + warm lightbulbs and patches of daylight made the color look different in different spots. Even their freshly painted walls looked like different shades!

We were happy to walk through it, show the consistency up close, and make sure they felt confident in the results.

That said, we did spot a couple of areas where the seal didn’t quite reach the baseboards — and we offered to touch them up, no problem. The homeowner said not to worry and was genuinely happy with how everything turned out.

We’re always happy to take a second look.

🔍 Clear Sealed vs. Color Sealed Grout — What’s the Difference?
…and why one might leave you with dingy grout even after a professional cleaning.

Muriel A. recently asked a great question under one of our videos:

“If your grout is sealed, can you still get it cleaned? I had my tile floors done — they sealed it, but I saw grout in some areas that wasn’t cleaned well. So now I have sealed dingy grout. How do you clean the grout after it’s been sealed?”

Here’s the thing most people don’t realize ⤵️

✅ Clear Sealing is a basic protective treatment. It’s fast, easy to apply, and relatively inexpensive — but it has one major downside:
If your grout is stained before sealing, that stain gets locked in.
There’s no way to clean underneath it without stripping the sealer first. That’s likely what happened to Muriel.

✨ Color Sealing, on the other hand, is in a league of its own.
