Having family routines helps prevent chaos and keeps children organized. ⏰ But it's important that routines are effective, not rigid. The key is finding a flexible balance. Here's how to provide the right structure that will prevent disorder without making your kids feel bored or that they have little freedom and choice.

Dear Families,

You may have recently received a notice regarding the ongoing contract negotiations between Blue Cross Blue Shield and the Memorial Hermann Health System. Because Over the Moon Pediatrics receives our BCBS credentialing through Memorial Hermann, our practice is temporarily considered out-of-network.

We want to reassure you that you do not need to choose a new pediatrician. Historically, these negotiations are resolved successfully within a few weeks. However, should they fail, Over the Moon Pediatrics is already prepared to pursue an independent contract with BCBS to return to in-network status as quickly as possible.

How we are supporting you during this transition:

Scheduling: We are currently rescheduling routine checkups to late April or May to allow time for the contract to be finalized.

Urgent Care: If your child needs care now, we are offering a cash-pay option. Please contact our office for prices.

Refunds: If the final contract covers visits retroactively, we will happily refund your cash payment or apply it as a credit to your account.

We value your trust and appreciate your patience while this is resolved.

As April marks Autism Awareness Month, we want to share this helpful resource for families to better understand autism in children, including current research and the benefits of early identification. If you have any questions or concerns related to autism, contact our office. ☎️

"Autism is a complex neurodevelopmental condition. While it varies widely in how it affects children, autistic kids often have differences in how they communicate, play and behave. Because most children on the autism spectrum will sit, crawl and walk on time, you may not notice early delays in social and communication skills."

Autism is a complex complex neurodevelopmental condition that varies widely in how it affects children. It is increasingly linked to genetics, but there is no single reason why children and adults are autistic. Individualized plans, often involving a combination of developmental, behavioral, educ...

Flying with a baby can make any family nervous. But with the right planning and a few helpful tips, you can make traveling with your baby easier and smoother. Here are answers to common questions parents have about taking their baby on a flight and safety considerations to keep in mind. ✈️

"Ideally, you will want to wait until your baby is 2 to 3 months old to fly. However, it's generally safe to fly when your newborn is at least 7 days old. Keep in mind that air travel (and being in crowded airports) can increase a newborn baby's risk of catching something. Whenever possible, delay travel for a few weeks to protect your infant from colds, flu and other diseases."

From the airport to your final destination, here’s what parents can do to keep baby comfy & content during air travel.
