Why it’s not true:
Your BMI and weight don’t paint the full picture of your health. BMI is a simple calculation that doesn’t take into account your muscle mass, body composition, s*x, or ethnicity. Two people can have the same BMI but drastically different health profiles.

The real concern isn’t your total weight — it’s where your body stores fat. Visceral fat (fat around your organs) can be far more dangerous than subcutaneous fat (the fat under your skin), and BMI can’t tell the difference.
