💚 Wearing green for Concussion Awareness Day! 💚

Concussions are brain injuries! Millions of concussions occur each year and many go undetected without proper evaluation. Symptoms aren’t always obvious, but they can have life-long affects on speech, language, cognition, and overall brain health.

🧠 According to the CDC, 15–20% of U.S. high school athletes report at least one sport-related concussion.

🧠 Concussions are a type of traumatic brain injury, and while symptoms may not always be obvious right away, they can have serious short- and long-term effects if not managed properly. That’s why a graduated, individualized return-to-play plan is essential for recovery and safety.

Growing up in Southwest Louisiana, my favorite memories were made around the table—sharing stories over home-cooked Cajun meals. Now, as a Speech-Language Pathologist, one of the most rewarding parts of my work is to help others regain those same simple pleasures: enjoying meals and engaging in meaningful conversations with the people they love.
