The SINUS AND SNORING CENTERS OF TEXAS was founded by Dr. Umang Khetarpal with a vision of excellence in providing advanced treatment for sinonasal, allergy, snoring, and sleep apnea problems. About 30-37 million Americans suffer from chronic rhinosinusitis, up to 40-50% of the population snores, up to 20% or so of the population may suffer from Obstructive sleep apnea and 10-30% of the population worldwide suffers from allergic rhinitis. These are significant numbers and this disease impairs the QUALITY OF LIFE significantly by causing headaches, stuffy nose, sinus pressure, reduced smell, nasal discharge, sniffling, sneezing, itchy eyes, reduced s*x life, absence from work, daytime sleepiness, embarrassment, and chronic fatigue. Dr. Khetarpal did his residency training in Syracuse, New York, and both clinical and research fellowships at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Harvard Medical School in Boston. He was previously involved in cutting-edge genetics research and is now involved in research in Chronic sinusitis, Allergic Rhinitis, and Sleep Apnea. Dr. Khetarpal is doubly Board Certified in Otolaryngology-Head, Neck and Facial Plastic Surgery, and in Sleep Medicine. Dr. Khetarpal is passionate about the role of Balloon Sinuplasty in improving Sinus problems. In addition to his long-held passion for Sinus, Allergy, and Sleep Apnea treatment, he has a tremendous interest in Rhinoplasty, also known as “ nose job” or surgical correction of nasal deformity. He has authored many papers in the past and is currently writing a paper on his results with in-office comprehensive Balloon Sinuplasty and sinus surgery. He is perhaps one of few surgeons in the country performing comprehensive balloon sinuplasty and near-total ethmoidectomy in the office. He is also one of few facilities in private practice that has WIRB approval for conducting research in chronic sinusitis and balloon sinuplasty.

Did you know that if you fracture your nose, there is a small window of time to repair the fracture before the bone sets? We had a patient come in with an urgent case as some time had already gone by. We are thankful that we were able to help! Surgery authorizations are a tricky thing when it comes to sinus and bone fractures. Some authorizations can be obtained quickly, while others can take weeks based on the patient's symptoms and the insurance plan. We do our best to get our patients the care they need and deserve. This is why we do what we do!

"First and foremost I’d like to mention how Dr.K was my second opinion. This matters!

I broke my nose by accidentally punching myself in the face after falling off my friends horse. I knew immediately it was broken. Radiologist at Urgent Care said it wasn’t on Sunday. Monday I went to see an ENT in Tomball who said it wasn’t broken, and the only thing that could help me was a plastic surgeon performing a Rhinoplasty. I have a finicky insurance so finding a provider to take my insurance isn’t easy. I called about 4 other offices on Tuesday, and I was able to get an appointment for Thursday with Dr.K. Every other Office I called had at least 1-3 month wait for a potential fractured nose. I had a short time frame to do it before I risked permanent damage, and I had a surgery already scheduled for 10/2 completely unrelated. That Thursday he said he wasn’t convinced it wasn’t fractured so I was scheduled at his Heights office the following Tuesday to get a CT scan that CONFIRMED my fracture in not one but TWO places, and a deviated septum. At this point I was 10 day out from my surgery. His office got to work on getting surgical prior authorization approval despite it being denied twice. His office manager and Dr.K worked hard on getting this approved with an approval the evening before surgery. His teams communication with me was phenomenal despite me knowing how many patients a practice like this has, and how I am not the only one needing a surgery like this; this fast. After surgery I experienced some very very minor complications. A couple polyps and some mild drainage that we were concerned with but ended up being a polyp issue. He saw me the day after surgery (no appointment) and go me taken care of despite having a busy day. Not only that he personally called me after hours twice to check in on me, and he made sure all of my questions and concerns were heard and answered. I not once ever felt dismissed or as if I was just another patient. I have been in the medical field for 5+ years and have worked with some Providers especially surgeons who just don’t care and see Dollar signs. Dr. K and his staff truly care about their patients, and make it a point to put patients first. I am very very happy I ended up getting a second opinion and he fixed everything. You don’t find Providers that truly care for their patients like this every day, and I will be suggesting him to friends and family from now on. Thank you Dr. K for taking care of me, and fixing me up when no one else saw an issue."

Hello! We have a quick notice to patients:

In most cases, we require the majority of visits to be completed in person; however, we have allowed sleep study follow-up appointments and CPAP follow-up appointments to be done via televisit if patients are traveling, and as long as no other symptoms are present. Please make note that as of 10/1/2025, we will no longer be accepting insurance for televisits. Televisit appointments will be discounted to $125 per visit. Please call our office if you have any questions: 832-990-2700

Just like our mouth, throat, lungs, and intestines, our noses and sinuses are lined with mucous membranes that can become inflamed, resulting in polyps. So, what are polyps?

They’re like little grapes inside the nose, blocking the sinuses and nasal passages, causing nasal congestion, reduction in smell, sinus pressure, runny nose, and postnasal drip. While surgery may be necessary in most cases, it is not always the first or only choice.

Our experienced and compassionate team will guide you through your best options. Stop suffering from polyps and get your life back now.
