It’s natural to feel unsure about what to say to someone who is grieving.

If you’ve already offered condolences, a warm greeting and continued expression of care is enough. Grief doesn’t require new words — it often needs steady presence.

If this is your first interaction since the loss, especially in public, consider a gentle acknowledgment like, “I understand these must be difficult days for you,” and allow them space to respond as they feel comfortable.

Support isn’t about perfect language. It’s about showing up.

Today we recognize the caregivers.

The nurses.
The hospice teams.
The adult children balancing work, appointments, and difficult conversations.

Caregiving is more than a role. It’s an act of steady, daily devotion.

At Serenity, we see firsthand how much responsibility caregivers carry. The medical decisions. The emotional weight. The quiet strength it takes to advocate for someone you love.

If you are caring for someone right now, we want you to know: you are not alone.

We are committed to being a trusted resource for families and for the professionals who walk beside them.

If you know a caregiver who deserves appreciation, tag them below.
