Mitchell Family Eye Care is proud to welcome Dr. Kevin Kasovich, OD to our team. With more than two decades of experience in comprehensive eye care, Dr. Kasovich is committed to delivering thorough, compassionate, and patient-centered care to individuals and families throughout Thibodaux and the surrounding communities.
Dr. Kasovich has been a Thibodaux resident since graduating from optometry school in 2004 and is proud to call this community home. He earned his undergraduate degree in Zoology from Louisiana State University before graduating magna cm laude from the Southern College of Optometry, in the same class as Dr. Lisa and Dr. David Mitchell. He then completed an advanced residency in ocular disease, receiving specialized training in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma, dry eye disease, diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, and other medical eye conditions.
Dr. Kasovich is licensed in the state of Louisiana to practice therapeutic optometry and authorized ophthalmic procedures, and he is certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry in the treatment and management of ocular disease. In recognition of his professional leadership and service, he was named Young Optometrist of the Year in 2013 by the Optometry Association of Louisiana. He is currently President of the Louisiana Board of Optometry
In addition to his civilian practice, Dr. Kasovich serves as a Major in the United States Air Force Reserve with the 403d Aeromedical Staging Squadron at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi. In this role, he supports the visual readiness of the aircrew who fly the Air Force Reserve’s Hurricane Hunters. In 2022, he deployed to Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, in support of U.S. Central Command operations.
Beyond the clinic, Dr. Kasovich is deeply connected to the Thibodaux community. His wife is a professor at Nicholls State University, and together they are proud to live and serve in the area they call home.
Dr. Kasovich looks forward to building lasting relationships with his patients and continuing the tradition of excellence at Mitchell Family Eye Care.

It was brought to our attention today that due to a technical malfunction in our phone system, messages left for our technicians were not being received.

Please note that this only affected messages to our ophthalmic technician team, and all messages left regarding appointments and glasses were received.

The issue has now been identified and resolved.
