Last week, we had a great time handing out candy at Monsters on Main in downtown Thibodaux and loved seeing so many familiar faces! šŸŽƒ

Well deserved award for my High School cross country coach! Coach Cole ignited the love for running and guided many generations of high school athletes! I couldn’t think of a more deserving person for the Brother John Distinguished Service Award!

We're thrilled to announce that Coach Eddie Cole is the recipient of the 2026 Brother John Distinguished Service Award, our school's highest honor recognizing individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and service to the community!

Coach Cole's legacy at E. D. White is one of passion and unwavering dedication. From 1976 to 2007, he served as our Cross Country and Track Coach, leading his teams to numerous successes, including multiple district, regional, and state championships. He also took on other vital roles, including Dean of Students and Physical Education Department Chairman.

Beyond E. D. White, his commitment to young people was evident in his work as a Sunday School Teacher, Youth Pastor, and as a volunteer with organizations like the E. D. White Brothers of the Sacred Heart Winter Visitation. A true servant leader, he was also the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Louisiana Track and Field Coaches' Association.

Join us in congratulating Coach Cole for this well-deserved honor!

Do you have pain when you lift?

Deadlift, squat, bench press—or something else?

Is it an actual injury…or is it your mechanics?

Most lift-related pain isn’t a ā€œyou’re brokenā€ issue—it’s a load + technique + capacity mismatch. As a DPT, I start by clearing the medical side (rule out red flags/tissue injury). If anatomy checks out, we tighten up your lift:

• Set-up & bar path (stance, grip, foot pressure, range of motion)
• Bracing & ribcage–pelvis position for real spinal support
• Smart loading: weight, volume, and tempo that match your capacity
• Targeted mobility/accessory work (only what you need)

Having trouble with a stubborn pain in joints? Steven—a client of ours and avid golfer—did.

Despite being in shape and trying a number of treatments from other physical therapists, he just couldn’t seem to get past his ā€œtennis elbowā€ or elbow tendonitis.

Why?

Well, it wasn't tendonitis at all. Tendonitis (inflammation of the tendons) is often mistaken for TENDINOSIS — a chronic degeneration of the tendon fibers. This happens due to repetitive stress, overload, or poor movement patterns.

The fix sounds counter-intuitive — especially when something hurts. The real solution is:

āœ… Gradually exposing the tendon to controlled stress (eccentrics, isometrics, and progressive loading).
āœ… Correcting movement patterns, strength deficits, and mobility limitations that contribute to the problem.
āœ… Providing the tendon with the proper stimulus to heal and remodel — and often, that stimulus is HEAVY LOAD applied in a focused, systematic way.

The answer ISN'T shutting things down — it’s targeted, progressive loading.

That’s exactly what we did with Steven. Today, Steven is pain-free, back to lifting and swinging strong.

Many people think that PTs are only for long, intensive rehab plans. But here’s the truth: not every ache or nagging pain requires months of physical therapy.

Physical therapists can also help you with small concerns. Sometimes all it takes is a single visit, a small change to your routine, or expert reassurance that you’re on the right track.

We're not here to lock you into a drawn-out rehab plan if you don't need it. Our goal is to get you the clarity and confidence you need to keep moving forward, no matter what that entails.

We’ve all been there—the shoulder discomfort that lingers for weeks, the knee or elbow "tendonitis" that flares up every time we train or exercise. But it’s not ā€œbad enoughā€ to stop, so we push through.

So what’s really going on?

Oftentimes, the issue stems from doing the same things over and over—same movements, same loads, same compensations. That repetition builds stress in the body, which can lead to one of two things: over-training or actual injury.
