AEI is incredibly proud of our surgical team that recently spent a week as part of the Health Talents International missions group by providing Ophthalmology care in Guatemala.

Through Health Talents International, medical and surgical teams travel to Guatemala each year to perform surgery on the rural Mayan and Iadino population in the area.
HTI is a multifaceted organization which maintains several full-time programs, as well as, hosting multiple short term mission trips each year.
This medical evangelism program is their “grassroots” effort to spread the Gospel while providing compassionate Christian healthcare to those in need!

While there, our team was able to see countless patients in a clinical setting, in addition to performing 35 ophthalmic surgeries. Although they had limited free-time, they were still able to fully immerse themselves in the Guatemalan culture by connecting with the people of the community beyond their eye care needs. The simplicity of the Guatemalans’ faith-filled lifestyle has left a lifelong impact on our team!
