Since Archbold Memorial opened in 1925, there has been an active group of local residents who have volunteered their time to give the hospital their support and assistance. This group of volunteers is expanding, and they are looking for new members to join them.

The Archbold Auxiliary is the volunteer corps that consists of men, women and youth serving in many areas of the hospital and its outlying facilities. Throughout the year, volunteers interact with families in the surgery waiting area, greet visitors at the Information Desk, support various departments throughout the hospital, and fulfill many other important roles that offer personal connections for visitors and patients.

The Archbold Auxiliary is currently looking for new members and is hosting a Meet and Greet Soirée on Friday, April 17, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Madison Grove Clubhouse. The event serves as the kick-off of the Archbold Auxiliary's celebrations of National Volunteer Week.

“This drop-in event is a way for those interested in becoming an Auxiliary member to come and talk to current members to learn more about the organization and open volunteer positions,” said Bonnie Hayes, Volunteer Services Director at Archbold. “This is a fun way to get a peek at what our volunteers do, and it’s a chance to meet people who like to give back to our community.”

Two teams of Archbold employees bumped, set, and spiked their way through the YMCA volleyball winter league, proving that teamwork doesn’t stop when the shift ends. From saving lives to saving rallies, our team always shows up ready to dig deep and have a little fun together.

🎂 Did you know? 🎂

Archbold regularly hosts Birthday Lunches to celebrate our hardworking team members and allow them to have meaningful, face-to-face conversations with our leadership team.

Every Archbold team member receives a special mailed invitation to a local celebratory lunch in Thomasville, Cairo, Camilla, or Quitman that aligns with their birth month each year.

Good food, fellowship, and a birthday gift are always accompanied by an opportunity to ask questions and make suggestions to Archbold leaders, including Archbold President/CEO Darcy Craven. We believe that it is important to listen to the feedback of each team member. After all, no one understands their on-the-ground perspective better than they do.

We know that concerns and suggestions don't only come up once a year, so every team member has the ability to send messages year-round to Craven through our "Ask the CEO" feature. We also complete an annual employee survey so our team can make their voices heard and to ensure Archbold remains a Great Place to Work!

The first line in our mission statement and the focus of everything we do at Archbold is patient safety. This week, we are recognizing National Patient Safety Awareness Week with healthcare organizations around the country.

This year's theme, Team Up for Patient Safety, reminds us that patient safety is a collaborative mission that requires commitment from care team members, providers, patients, and their families.

We're proud to recognize Archbold Memorial’s Surgery Department as Archbold's Department of the Year for Patient Safety.

At Archbold, we're committed to opening doors to careers in healthcare and bringing the best to join our team. When members of our community find meaningful work at Archbold, it benefits us all.

Representatives from our Talent Acquisition and Human Resources teams attended the South Georgia Healthcare Summit at the University of Georgia Tifton Campus last month.

The event was a collaboration between healthcare employers, K-12 and post-secondary educators, and community partners about providing pathways to students entering the healthcare workforce. Attendees learned about dual enrollment programs, work-based learning, participated in simulations, and engaged in conversations about how we can work together to build our healthcare workforce.

Last week, Archbold hosted nurses from around the region at Sip & Connect: Med/Surg Career Night. At this drop-in event, nurses learned more about the new pay rates in the Med/Surg Unit and what it means to be part of the Archbold team.

We are thankful for our vendors who welcomed each of these nurses, donated raffle items, and helped to make this event a success!

Meet Lyndsey, RN!

Lyndsey is Nurse Manager of the Nephrology Unit at Archbold Memorial, our specialized unit dedicated to the treatment of kidney-related diseases. In her role, Lyndsey completes patient rounding, ensures the department runs smoothly, addresses any issues that arise, and supports Nephrology staff members so they can serve patients efficiently.

"No two days look the same, and that is something I love about my job," Lyndsey shared. "I love being able to support my team and see them grow while knowing we are providing great care to our patients."

After 14 years with Archbold, she says Archbold feels like home. "Working here feels like I am working with family, and I feel that I'm truly valued as an employee at Archbold."

Outside of work, Lyndsey enjoys spending time with her husband and children. They enjoy hunting, fishing, and spending time on the water in the summer.

Lyndsey is a valued member of the Archbold team, and we thank her for her consistent efforts to support her patients and fellow team members. She makes Archbold a Great Place to Work!
