Georgia Trend Magazine has named Archbold Memorial as one of the best large hospitals in the state. The hospital is ranked as one of the top three large hospitals located south of Macon.

Georgia Trend Magazine defines a large hospital as one with more than 250 patient beds. Archbold Memorial has made the magazine’s prestigious list for five consecutive years and 11 of the last 13 years.

“Our hospitals consistent presence among the state’s top hospitals shows our long-term commitment to patient quality and satisfaction,” said Darcy Craven, Archbold President/CEO. “We’re proud to be ranked in the company of facilities in Metro Atlanta while offering expert care with small town compassion that can only be found in a place like Thomasville.”

The information used to compile the rankings was based on publicly reported data acquired from the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The rankings are based on information in four areas: clinical outcomes, person and community engagement, safety and efficiency and cost reduction.

Archbold Memorial tied for 14th in the ranking of best large hospitals in the state and was in the top six among those located outside of Metro Atlanta.

Congratulations to Maverick Hollon, Systems Analyst, for being named Employee of the Quarter for Archbold Memorial’s Administrative Support category for the third quarter of 2025!

His nomination reads, “I wanted to take a moment to send this commendation for Maverick Hollon. He has been working on the ticket we opened about charge transformation rules with repeat Lactic Acids, Troponin trending, Blood Culture x2 and POC Glucose charges. All of these require modifiers to be added before they can bill properly. Several system laboratory managers have experienced an 80%-90% reduction in charging errors due to his efforts in solving this puzzle. This is a HUGE improvement for us in the Laboratory. We cannot thank him enough for his efforts in improving this workflow for us.”

Her nomination reads, “Briana consistently goes above and beyond in her role as a Speech Therapist and demonstrates exceptional dedication to patient care. Briana is always on the ball when it comes to ensuring that her patients’ needs are met and that all aspects of their care are handled correctly and efficiently. She takes the initiative to make sure nothing falls through the cracks, often stepping outside the traditional scope of her role to assist with overall patient care. She routinely fills in for coworkers in their absence as well to ensure a smooth flow at the outpatient facility. Her teamwork, attention to detail, and willingness to help wherever she’s needed truly make a positive difference for both patients and her coworkers. Her professionalism, reliability, and compassionate approach exemplify the qualities of any Archbold employee. Congratulations to Ansley Maxwell, Medical Oncology, for being named Archbold Memorial’s Employee of the Quarter for Nursing for the third quarter of 2025!

Her nomination reads, “Ansley works as the clinical nurse for one of our busiest medical oncologists. She functions as the physician’s right hand, and her physician sings her praises. She does a fantastic job prepping the charts for patient visits and ensuring all daily scheduled patients are well taken care of. She has an amazing amount of patience, and even on a very busy, stressful day, she maintains her composure to provide the best possible experience for the patients she sees. She takes care of patients without being asked and she is very humble about taking credit for the extra things that she does. To top it off, she is a happy person and fun to have around with a great attitude even on the worst days. She is exceptional in every way!”
